Prosperity Proverb #2 - Desire

"Do you have what it takes?" - is a question many people face when new to the concept of Entrepreneurship. The answer to this question can only be answered by YOU - and you alone.

If you have an intense burning desire to achieve your goals, then it will show in your actions. When I first started out as "my own boss", I remember trying to play video games while I worked and I justified the wasting of a few hours everyday by telling myself, "I need to take a break every once in a while, I cant work forever..."

That way of thinking never worked in my favor. I would play more video games than I would work. And, at the end of the day I felt frustrated with myself for not committing to the task at hand, thus I got little to nothing done.

Because I had built into my character over the course of many years, the habit of playing video games all of the time, it became difficult to focus and achieve my goals and I suffered as a result - from my own actions. It sounds almost like a case of "Multiple Personality Disorder, doesn't it?

But, that is how every person is (when first starting out) - Once a habit is built into your character, it can prove very difficult (sometimes impossible) to the individual when attempting to make any positive lasting change. Human beings love consistency with just about everything because it provides a sense of security to the individual. But that is the way of the 9-5'er, NOT the Way of the Entrepreneur....

Take a look at the card that represents this post - It says on it that one must, "...burn his ships and cut all sources of retreat..."

This is true. Out of being frustrated with my lack of performance due my "hobbies", I sacrificed my old ways - all of them. I sold my game console on eBay and never looked back. I have also stopped wasting money "eating out" everyday.

As a result, I have accomplished more and more with each passing day. My focus to achieve gets stronger and stronger...! I have become so focused on my own goals, I don't even think about playing games or enjoying any other form of entertainment. In fact, my goals have become my new habits of entertainment!

I have become addicted to improving every aspect of my individual character as I work towards my "Finished Person". I burnt my bridges which has given me the ability to build new and bigger bridges that lead to wealth, happiness and good health. I have no desire to go back to any of my old habits of yesterday.

That previous version of my character is obsolete and dead - and, if you will adopt the mental courage and a burning desire to strive to achieve your goals and make it a habit - You will succeed. You will win in the end! The story of YOU will have a happy ending.

Let old habits and ways of yesterday fall to the wayside and die. You have boarded the vessel of Entrepreneurship and it requires your focus to navigate the stormy seas of opportunity and loss. Focus and make beneficial decisions moving towards your goal and after a time you will arrived...

And, when you look back on your life, you can smile because you have reached and fulfilled the desire of your heart. You have become the Finished Person that respresents your legacy after you leave this earth. And, to think it all began with one thing - Desire.
