Prescription Money Saving App
Well this one has been a real life saver! Got laid off and lost my insurance so come up with idea to abandon prescriptions since cost is so high. That is not a good solution but what else can I do? 8 different medicines for my wife and I went for $50 per month with insurance goes to over $200 without insurance!!! I stumble into a free app called Good Rx and the new cost per month is $70 (and that's without paying the $335/month for my share of my old job co-pay)! You let the app know where you are on Location Services in Settings and type the name of your prescriptions, dosage and number of pills and it lists brands and generic, best prices and discounts at local pharmacies (mapped with mileage distance from your location) from cheapest to most expensive!!! Locally lists Kroger, KMart, Target, CVS, Walgreens, Walmart and Other is final choice. It will track your prescriptions, send price alerts and even suggest like medication that is cheaper. It even covers what it is used for, side effects and the latest news and alerts about a particular medicine!!! Even if you have insurance you can pick and choose whichever is cheapest. One major advantage that I wasn't aware of was that my pharmacy price matches and I can show the competitor's prices right on my iphone!
Once you have a coupon price you can show it, print it, text it or email your pharmacist. Let me know what you think of this!!!
