I DID IT!

Wow! what a day.

My boss Skyped me yesterday to see if I would be interested in being the guest speaker at our Wednesday meeting. This was a chance for me to discuss my success so far with the company and to share some advice.

Of course, I said Yes! Then the nerves started to rush in. Mind you, I received this information at the start of my work day.

I made sure to map out what I planned on saying and sent it to my boss for approval.

Man, was I a nervous wreck the entire day.

My bosses boss, called me to confirm tomorrows meeting. I wanted to run a few things by him, just so that I could ease the stress. I felt confident and ready after the call. This was my time to shine!

Later that day, I received an e-mail from my Bosses Boss. He told me that instead of me explaining how I got where I did, the format is set as a Q&A with the Manager of Operations.

(Pulling out my hair!)

I thought to myself "You've got to be kidding me!

The Day Has Come

Today, the big day.

This morning I work up feeling fresh and ready to go.

A part of me was still nervous but with a couple of meditation sessions, I feel relaxed enough to stay productive.

My bosses boss skyped me and asked if I wanted to role-play what could be discussed during the meeting. I jumped at the opportunity.

Closer to the time of the meeting, my Bosses boss called and we ran through what could be discussed. After the call, I felt even more confident.

Meeting Time!

My nerves we still there and I kept asking them to please relax because we both we go to get through it alive.

Now it's time for my big debut. All the stress and time was coming down to this moment. Not only will I be speaking, but this was amongst the entire company. WHAT?.... I Know!

Boy did I nail it. Not only did the Q&A went well, but during the meeting, each speaker kept piggybacking on my statements. At the end of the meeting we do a formal Q&A about the meeting. I ended up getting a shout out during the session.

Remember don't ever let nerves get the best of you. Don't let a project so big and many times, cause you to lose focus on the prize. I've said it many times in my blogs. You are in control of your own destiny and have the power to create whatever.
