Having two niches on one site?

Hello friends!
I was wondering how effective a site using two niches could be? I'm thinking about connecting to of my passions, motorcycles and guns. They go hand and hand in a way, since most people enjoy both or neither. This could open my horizons to a lot more of possible content, as items to link to on amazon. Anyway, some feedback would be greatly appreciated, thanks! :)

Honest truth? Google will get confused about the topic of your site. Google bots aren't that smart. Do two sites. Start with one, make it a success, then do the second one because you will know what to do.
thanks for your input, I didn't even think of it for ranking purposes. I just don't know how to make enough content about one niche.
