My First Video
This is a test run for my first video here at WA. Basically, I'm reintroducing myself. I'm stepping a b iy]t outside of my comfort zone so that I can prepare myself for future video blogs with helpful content.
I've been working on this one task since yesterday, and again since around 6:30 this morning. Literally, 6 hours just today. I downloaded several programs to help me out, only to delete them because they didn't work for me. But I didn't give up, and the stupid thing is ... I just ended up using my built-in webcam and started recording the video. Stupid simple, no bells and whistles. That's all I wanted to begin with. I prefer the version I originally recorded with my phone, but it doesn't upload the sound.
I forgot to mention that I was a member of the Nevada Camera Club for several years and I was on the executive board as secretary for three of those years.
I'm also Lipsologist, which means I read lip prints. (When you leave a lip print mark on a piece of paper, it's like leaving a fingerprint. The difference is that your lip print changes based on your mood and energy whereas, your fingerprint remains the same.) Your Lip Print is a micro expression of your soul.
I have a lot of interests and hobbies. My former nail girl once told me I had too many hobbies, which I turned into a blog post. LOL

Wow, what a story and that was just under 5 minutes! I totally get the frustration part too. I’m in the same boat trying to figure out how to use this laptop to record or if I need to dig even deeper, haha.

Thank you for your first video post, JarieLyn, it's a great thing to do and helps members to understand who you are, etc. I believe that most of us have something to bring to the table in life, and at Wealthy Affiliate.
I think sometimes we can overthink things, it's amazing that you spent that much time on your video, but then came back to just using your computer WebCam! How simple is that! I always think simple is good, it's so easy to overcomplicate things, but we don't need to.
You came over very well on your video, JarieLyn, I think many of us find this process difficult, but it does get easier.
Just for your interest, I use Camtasia to create my videos, it's something that I have used for years, it seems to work okay for me, it also allows me to edit my video within the software. It's really screen sharing software, as with most of my videos, I share the screen.

I prefer seeing people on videos because their messages shine through more. That's what prompted me to try it. Now, I just need to deliver some sage advice or something.
I will check out Camtasia. I think I did see it on a list when I was googling video editors. Is it user friendly for beginners?

I feel the same, as it's good to know and see who you are talking to, if I see a faceless video, there is a very good chance that I will move on. I'm not saying that faceless channels don't work, because some do, I just think we are better off to show our face and to be real.
When I first started creating videos, which was quite some time ago, it seemed like every Internet marketer was using Camtasia. I believe there is more choice now, however, I have stuck with Camtasia, as it works for me, I can actually telephone them if I have a problem. They also have lots of training videos, which is great.
For many years, I was just really using Camtasia as a screen recorder, where I showed my face, in the right-hand corner. I carried out very little editing, perhaps blurring out some sensitive information. I still don't do huge amounts of editing. However, to answer your question, to use Camtasia in its simplest form, it's very straightforward. If you do try it, I think they may give a 30 day trial, they certainly used to, but I'm here to help.
