Steadily moving in the right direction

Last couple of weeks has been mental, in a good way! I’ve completed the first two phases of the training, finishing off the tasks as they came up. This was a really satisfying way of doing things as it forced me to get started before I was ready and that really helped set the wheels in motion and help me build momentum.

Writing most days has been really enjoyable and it’s been surprising how much I’ve been able to get done.

I’ve come up with my own brand, bought a custom domain and am currently building out my site. I’m working towards getting to the fifteen posts mark (currently at 11 with 4 in the pipeline) so that I can start applying for affiliate programs which I’m really excited about.

I’ve had a tough last few days though struggling to finish off writing a couple of posts and find the energy to keep pushing forward. Don’t get me wrong, I’m fully committed to the long game and chipping away at things each day but I started to get carried away with trying to get too much done too quickly at the expense of the quality.
Then I read one of Kyles latest blogs where he mentions the importance of quality over trying to be different. Part of what says is if you focus on trying to be a little better than the competition and stay consistent with your output, it will help you get ahead.

This was a revelation and great reminder of what I’m trying to achieve, a great reputation for quality content. I mean, what’s the point in having lots of traffic visit your site if you’re not happy with the content you’re sharing with them!

So, as I wrote in a previous post, as important as it is to set goals - it really is a marathon and not a sprint and as long as I’m taking daily action I can rest at night knowing I’m steadily moving in the right direction.
