Steadily building my affiliate house one brick at a time.
So, I'm just taking a quick break from working through the next post for my website. It'll be my 6th in a week - which I'm delighted about but well aware that going at this pace may not be sustainable. Really don't want to burn out after all but have been really inspired this week trying to kick things off.
As I sit her thinking about what to type I'm reminded of a TV interview with Will Smith I saw a few years ago, granted he seems to be a celebrity who divides opinion these days but I'm not here to judge. I've always liked him but more than that I've been inspired by his work ethic and take on things.
In this particular interview he was relaying a story from his childhood, where he and his younger brother were tasked by their father with building a brick wall. Will told this with a fond look in his eye but conviction in his words, how instead of becoming daunted or deterred by the giant task ahead of them, he just concentrated and focussed all his energy on laying one brick at a time...as well as he possibly could.
He wasn't concerned with how many bricks he'd have to lay or how long it would take him, he just continued to focus solely on that one brick he had in his hands and the quality of how well he put it in place.
Before he knew it, but with a lot of patience and hard work, he'd finished the wall...
I liken this a LOT to what we're trying to accomplish here at WA and it's what I'm trying to do now...write one blog post at a time, concentrating all my energy and focus on creating the best content I'm capable of at this moment in time while I steadily build out my website :)
Just some food for thought, what do you guys reckon?....

I like that, James! For me it is that same--one day at a time! I will not get too far ahead of myself!
Jeff
Thanks Jeff, itโs definitely the way forward for me too. Think big but stay grounded and keep plodding :) thanks for the comment! ๐
Well, James, you know the old saying about Rome, it wasn't built in one day. It took centuries; now, some are in ruins, and some are new buildings. It took a lot of person-hours to build a structure, as you stated, brick by brick. That is how it is for an online business, or even a brick-and-mortar business. Along with it comes the ups and downs. I reckon if you keep being persistent and be consistent with your blog post, you should do well. Taking breaks is a great way to do this. Keep on trucking! Toot your horn and pat yourself on the back about your progress this far. Still more to come.
Thanks Brenda, you're absolutely right! There's a helluva lot of hours involved and there will be a lot of ups and downs I'm sure but having great comments like these will help keep me on track. Thanks for reading and sharing your thought, much appreciated :) I'll be tooting my horn right into blog post number 7 lol
I think I was in need of this post today.
Sometimes we need something (in this case, this post) but what that is isnโt always clear until itโs in front of us and this is definitely what I needed to read. So thank you for sharing, I think you have done me favor as the last two days I have been overthinking my website coming together.
Thank you again ๐
What a lovely comment, thanks very much for letting me know Nipa. I'm really glad it resonated with you, the message still has an impact on me so I'm delighted to share it. Keep going with your website, I'm sure it's coming together better than you realise :) I can be prone to overthinking too, let's both stop overthinking and smash it one brick at a time!
Good plan. The idea is to learn something from each post you do. From yourself, from others and from courses here at WA and elsewhere. Apply what you learn and you again, will improve from that.
Michael
Great point Michael, if you're consistently learning as well as creating content youโll create a positive circle (opposite to a viscious circle lol) thanks for your input mate :)
