Not Enough Time

The day goes by so quickly! There are just not enough hours to accomplish all that needs to be done.

I had such a rhythm going with my writing and communicating within the community. Now the responsibilities of my personal life have taken my time in the last couple weeks. My writing has suffered as a result.

I want to write short posts to add to my website. I know they don't have to be perfect, but I can't live with it if it's not quality content. The result is I am only getting one post a week accomplished.

I am fearful the holidays will interfere with my writing schedule as well.

I will persist despite the challenges.

Does anyone have suggests for keeping on track with post during the holiday season? Please pass them along!

Hey Janice I can relate completely! Setting my goals and priorities has helped. I'm wore out but This Is important to me! So I put everything else aside and manage a post a week.,. I was almost at 1 per day. And still trying. Although clearing my mind if outside distractions has also been a challenge.
So comittment and dedication is my priority! No matter what or how tired I am! Have a safe and happy holiday season!
Michael

Thank you Michael.
I will be happy with the one post a week if I can keep that through this busy time.

While that hasn't happened to me yet, I know it will especially next year, 2017 is an election year for us in New Zealand so I'll be busy running a campaign. So I need to be proactive and write as much as I can now and post to my blog later.

Such is life.

Very true Gaylene. WA has to fit within our life. The key is to find that balance.

Jan I was working in W. Texas town of Pecos on what felt like a job that was going nowhere but it paid good money. I would come back into Fort Worth on the weekends always leaving me with a 6 hour drive on Friday nights. Lots of time to think on a W. Texas highway. One night I heard this song on the radio and ever since I have tried to live making the most of the moment. I don't always succeed but I am getting better.

Have a Happy Thanksgiving
Dennis

I tried to post a link but couldn't. It's the Del McCoury Band; I Need More Time

Thank you Dennis. I am going to search that!

I will try to do just that: Make the most of the moment.

I too suffer from an extreme lack of time. I found I also was getting only one post per week accomplished. I have now set myself an appointment for each morning. A one hour block of just post writing time. Nothing else just working on my posts. I fit my email etc in at other hours. This has led to me being a little more productive. I hope this helps. And also try not to get too wound up in the need to post. It can take the fun out of it and turn it into a real chore. Thats not what you need!

Thank you for your encouragement.
You are so right about stress taking the fun out of writing. I like your idea about the hour a day for writing only.

This might sound crazy to you... At first... But, my suggestion to you is Bacopa Monieri, Ginseng, Ginkgo Biloba, and Kelp EVERY day, first thing in the morning, before any food... And every 2-3 days you add a multivitamin, a 500 mg vitamin C, a D3, and a B vitamin complex...

Thank you!
Will this help with the stress?

I can relate Janice. Yes there are only so much time in 24 hours that we can dedicate to our online business. If I can make a recommendation, it would be to write a post every day but not for more than a paragraph if you can help it. Don't forget to add pictures with it as well.

I will think about shorter posts and see if I can write more frequently.

Janice, I know that feeling!
There are times like this when you wonder if the clock will ever stop spinning....
I've started writing bunches of key sentences, ideas and titles in a scrapbook I carry with me when I'm away, that way, there's at least something to start with......:-)

This is a great idea. I will start doing this.

Great;-)))

Hi Janice, I'm thinking about withdrawing from WA for exactly that reason. I just can't find the time at all. Life is so hectic (I work full time too) so feel like I'm wasting money, but am really pleased with my site so fat.
Is good to know I'm not on my own so thanks for sharing.
Good luck.

I'm not ready to leave. I am also very pleased with my site. I just seem unable to post as frequently as needed to grow my site.
If your I have not gone yearly do it on Friday during the Black Friday sale. It will make it very affordable for the year.

Yes I know finding time for everything is difficult but what I do is I wake up like 45 minutes earlier than normal and before I have to get my daughter up and breakfast and then I have to get ready and start the day and etc....So, I have my coffee ready on a timer and sit on my sun porch and do the writing or whatever I need to do for my sites. And, I also do the same at the end of the day usually around 9 after everything in the house is taken care of and a long day of working around 9 I tell my daughter do you need anything and she is 17 so she can do things for herself but mommy likes doing it :) she knows I am working and I do as much as I can. Well, I don't know if that helped but that's just what I do. But you can always write your post on your phone and keep it as a draft and publish later, in case you have something you want to write about asap. Best of luck Janice, you will figure it out, remember it's all about balance. Have a HAPPY HOLIDAYS!!!
Carol

Thank you so much for the suggestion. I will find the rhythm agin I am sure.

Although not a substitute, but as a help in number of posts...how about a 'retake' on previous articles that did well? Or share your life with readers; example about personal life taking time, but still keeping in touch with your extended family....your readers. This goes well with the public, as they are pressed for time as well and it would serve as additional 'bonding'.Even an update to a previous post is helpful, in addition you can cross-link between both articles.

Thank you for this idea. It will help on days when time is really short.
