Thanks guys...I went back and looked further into the options...Dashboard then Customize....Static Front page. There I set my landing page to the relevant page...then checked to make sure it worked...Viola it did work!! You could get there also from the Appearance option also. I didn't try the "sticky" option, but will keep that in mind for another time. Happy dance.
Thank you for taking the time out of your busy day to reply. :)
Glad it worked and great job on sorting it out!! My day is winding down now so no sweat at all :)
Hi Jan the sticky option would be more if your site showed posts on the front page like a normal blog but wanted to have that one post stuck to the top that people could always see, usually people start from the top and read downwards so that would be the first read post with your updated posts below it.
James
Goto your admin panel and create a PAGE, then save it then goto
/wp-admin/options-reading.php
then set that as the Front Page, setup a blog page as well and set that.
Save it then check your domain, once you do that go back and edit the page as normal and save it and you have your front page all done.
My site http://jamesreilly.siterubix.com/
Static front page, default them and blog posts in the back ground for more traffic.

Awesome site, James. Down the road, I'm gonna bug you about how to get those kewl lil side bars. Thanks for the advise, much appreciated. Cheers.
Hi Jan... There should be an option in the "Appearance" then "Customize" section. In the left hand side menu that loads, there should be an option for a "static front page".
You should be able to select a new page there
You can create a post for your front page and make it a "sticky" so it always stays on top.

The 3 themes are your main pages on your site.
The 10 topics should fit under the main themes.
Each topic is a post and should be the length you mentioned.
You can categorize them under the themes if you like.
