Hi all,

as some of you may know, I am seriously struggling with writing new content, is just not my favourite thing to do! However, it's part of our learning curve, one of the most important actually.

So I am looking continuously how I could improve my writing and hopefully enjoy it in the future.

Today I was browsing the web and found an interesting website. "Open 2 Study" offers free online courses and I have signed up for the course "Writing for the Web" straight away.

The modules are:

1. Why Writing for the Web is Different

2. Characteristics of Good Content

3. Writing Effective Content

4. Looking After Your Content

22,173 students have taken this course already so it can't be too bad, can it?

I will give it a try and in the meantime trying to figure out why it's free. Maybe someone knows the site and has taken part already?

If you are interested, here is the link: https://www.open2study.com/courses/writing-for-the-web

I write daily and sometimes it's still difficult for me to come up with something. It happens to everyone. I took an SEO course for writers when I started writing for online pubs years ago. Yes, it's very different and I was like, "Whaddya mean I have to learn to write all over again???" Good thing I didn't get my Irish/Italian on and dig my heels in. :)

I didn't know you were half Irish Carla. I am Irish! Olive

Yup! The Irish relatives came from the Co. Mayo/Limerick border. The name is Mulcahy. :)

I think we all struggle, it's hard to constantly come up with new ideas to write about!

Thanks for sharing the link Janine.
It is a struggle, I tend to write how I speak which isn't always best for content!
Sometimes what works for me is reading other articles about the same subject. It then starts to give coherence to what I want to write about. :)

Hi Janine i have studied a few writing courses in my time being a children's author, most of the courses i have enrolled in just give the basic's, so no it shouldn't be hard, but don't expect to much in the way of involvement and you won't be dissapointed. All the best, hope it works for you.

Thank you for sharing. Joze.

Lately I come across a lot of free stuff on the web.
what amazes me is that the quality is simply great! (in a lot of cases)
so let's enjoy it, as we should enjoy the weekend :)

Hi Lilly! -

I would like to share these two posts with you:

https://my.wealthyaffiliate.com/davyrobot/blog/invisible-influence

I hope they help you! :)

Thanks Davy, just checking it out.

Okay Janine! :)

I'm going to check that out too. Here is an idea that works great for me. I was in a couple Facebook groups about ufo s, and survival. I made friends who love writing about those topics. So I made my first two sites based on those topics and I have people asking me to post their content all the time. So basically very good free content filling up fast while I study on monetizing the sites.

Thanks James. My struggle is actually the writing itself. I have the knowledge about my niche and I have loads of topics but putting it into reasonable articles and posts...agghh...just want to run. xD

Oh yeah, that is an art in itself

It is indeed. :-D

Not familiar with it Janine, but sounds interesting. :))

I just wanted to thank you Janine for sharing this, I'm going to bookmark it and check it out later today. I understand completely what you mean about writing new content. :) Have a wonderful weekend! Michelle
