Recording Your Screen For Video Tutorials
Hey Guys!
The Internet provides us with some great tools for boosting our online presence and here's one of them...
If you are wanting to record your screen and offer tutorials to post on your website, YouTube or elsewhere then this FREE screen capture tool will help you achieve that.
You can also record from your webcam, if you like to address your audience in person!
It's at Screencast-o-matic.com where a very quick demo will show you what it can do. There's also a pro version that costs just $15 per year.
Don't know what to record?
Well let's say that you are promoting a product or service. You can educate your visitors with an information video that will capture their attention far more than written words and photos can.
This is a fantastic tool and will (if done well) boost your conversions and make your website more interesting.
I found a WA tutorial by Jay which shows you how to make, prep, broadcast and post Screencasts, it is however available for Premium WA members only. Do bear in mind that it was aired in 2013 and there me some variations now - I haven't seen the tutorial myself - yet! Here's the link to that tutorial: https://my.wealthyaffiliate.com/training/making-sc...
Hope this is useful for some of you :)

That is great Janice it is time I did something like this, have not seen you around for a bit hope all is well and thank you for bringing this to my attention
Hi Katie, indeed and of course it helps when you haven't got to shell out for software too. I am well thank you; it's true I haven't been around for a while and don't the months fly by? My mum who's 93 passed out on a couple of occasions back in early May and was admitted to hospital for a month. She has had a pacemaker fitted and then started the journey of recovery - although she also has a walking disability. As I live opposite her I have been helping her and it took a lot of time and energy. She's doing well now, although I still part care but we now have a schedule worked out :) Thanks for asking. :)
aww hope your mum is doing much better now it must be a worry, have a good weekend and take care
I've been wanting to do this for ages but didn't know that there was any free software to accomplish this. Thank you for sharing! I'll have to give it a look!
Yes, you can save it as .mp4 file or upload to Monosnap and get this link:

Thank you for post valuable info. I know I want to start offering such and now it is easier than I thought.

I use it and I can not find any good reason for having to buy different as this works. True, it is not a super Pro tool but for me it's certainly good enough
I know especially when you consider that Camtasia is around £250 (not sure what it is in dollars - we often get to pay more in pounds!) I'm sure this free version suits most people's needs. :)
Hi Janice - I've used some very expensive (through employment) screen recorders, and some fairly cheap ones - Screencast-o-matic is by far my favourite, for ease of use and features.
It also lets you edit afterwards, and add audio, and caption files - so I agree with you - it's a fantastic, cheap tool.
All the best, Mark
