How To Set Up Your Author Box Wordpress And Google Authorship on WordPress

I have recently noticed a couple of people asking about setting up the display name in their posts. I know there is training on this by Kyle but as I couldn't locate it thought I would quickly add a tutorial here. (I am sure someone will find it for me!)

Here’s how to set up your Admin setting on your website so that your posts show your name as the author.

1. In your dashboard go to “Users” > > “Your Profile”

2. Fill in the box “Firstname” and the box “Last Name”

3. Change the “Nickname” to the name that you want to be displayed as your post author.

4. This previous steps adds the name to the drop down menu adjacent to “Display name publicly as”. Select your name here.

This is what the page looks like before it's filled in with your details:

Then scroll down to the bottom and click “Update profile”.

Whilst you are doing this you can if you like also set up your Google authorship.

Under “Contact Info” put in the fields your website and below put your Google+ account URL.

Again remember to save the info you have added here by scrolling down to the bottom of the page and clicking “Update profile”.
