Moving over a pre-exisiting website to Wealthy Affiliate
I am not a website expert, but started learning word press 4 years ago when I started my blog. I originally had my site hosted by wordpress and now that it is due to auto charge in a couple of weeks. I chose to more my hosting to WA to have my sites all centrally located together.
The cost per month to have them hosted here is well worth it to me if you have more than one income producing site.
To let you know the necessary steps
- Back up a copy of your website so you have all the files before you switch the host servers
- Download a copy of the back up file of your website
- Now you can go to Websites and change the host servers and then import your site
- For me I needed help with the site support. The steps we took are
- upload your back up file to dropbox
- Then share that link of your back up file to site support
If you are able to upload your backup file directly to the FTP then you probably won't have to share the file with site support with WA.
I hope this helps to short cut your website changeover experience. As with all the support here a wealth of knowledge shared can only lift us all up.
