Sweet Gesture From A Stranger, WOW! Or Should I Be Scared?

Im sharing with you a bit of exciting news I received today.
There's a complete stranger who runs a beautiful site, who reached out to me complementing one of my articles. And he asked me if I was willing to link to one of his brilliant pages related to my particular post.
I know that he knows that would benefit him, of course. No problem with me on that one since he has a great site.
I must admit, I have never had any experience with these Backlink collaborations (I believe this is what it's called).
Please correct me if Im wrong and tell me if i'm exited for nothing! LOL!

As long as he does the same, as you don't want to hand business to someone else and have no return for it.
I had an agency try and do the same for a client of theirs, as Diane wisely advises if they are offering a reciprocal deal than fine. They were not offering one so I asked them to take a hike!!;

Hi - it's great news, but unless he is linking back to one of your posts in return, then you won't gain anything from it. He will gain the backlink.

Hi Jane, I think if you are willing to put a backlink on your page to his site then he should be doing the same for you. Unless he is willing to do this, there is no benefit to you.
