Change sometimes creeps up on you

Hello everyone,

I should give a disclaimer: I will be praising Jesus at some point.

I am not very certain how many of you know that I am a University student and if you have read this before I apologize for my reference to it once again but alas this is my life so here goes. I recently was having a last minute study session for an important test I had for school. I was fully prepared and the teacher was no in the class at the time and I wanted to concentrate so I left the classroom and went outside by the steps for some peace and quit. After a few minutes I began to make my way back to the classroom because I believed I had seen the teacher making his way to the class. Unfortunately as I began to get up my calculator ended up dropping form the top of the staircase off the side and plummeted down to its demise down below. A passerby student (who was almost struck by the falling projectile) and was the first to pick up the device proceeded to tell me that my much needed the instrument of learning was now destroyed. Sadly this was not the worse thing to happen to be that day or even so far within this month but, lets stay on track. So I ran to him and got my calculator with hopes that at least it could turn on and work for what I needed at the moment of course it didn't incase you thought it would.

A few moments after I walked back up the stairs my teacher finally decided to come strolling down the hall with the test papers in his hand and a look on his face that said I am not interested in any nonsense of excuses. When the calculator dropped I must admit I said several prayers as I ran downstairs praying it would work until the test was over at least and when it would and I saw my teacher I prayed for any relief but I was thinking and hoping I would not have to take this test anymore but I didn't tell him that of course. I ran up to him and begged him for a calculator just to take the test so that I could get it over with and he said that he had one in his desk in his office which was great. However, as I ran over to his office I was very preoccupied by the mental math I began to do trying to compute how I would pay for a new calculator especially since school is a month away from ending but that also meant exams were soon approaching.

So I got the calculator, took the test and handed in my paper as I began to return the device I asked the teacher if he was aware of any places where I could get a good deal on a calculator because although I needed it I was not really willing to pay a lot for one. Then he told me he collects calculators and that was one of many that he had and that I could have his. Praise the Lord

Although there are many lessons which someone can receive out of my story I narrowed it down to one main lesson and if you think of another drop a comment below. I learned to be ready for a change at any moment. Although the calculator I got for free was not one I was used to using it was is a brand much better than the one I had before, this fact was something I was aware of but being a student I really didn't care my previous one was working and that was that. However, when my calculator dropped I began to think of the fact that I now needed and deserved a better one but I was extremely unwilling to pay the price for it. Then my God stepped in.

So I say all of this to say to everyone although we are not prepared for whatever new addition is coming and even though we may be thinking we have exactly what we need. If you follow and trust in God he will bless you with more than you can ever imagine. Just know that it may come when you don't even expect it.
