I have been working on my site for a short period of time, its in the early stages. I chose the TYPE theme because of the layout with pics and text looked sharp, I cant seem to
I am not sure how to make it look exactly like the theme that you saw but, in my case when I saw a screen shot and wanted my site to appear as the same layout. It was the premium version that I was seeing as a screen shot. Meaning, I would have to upgrade in order to get that same look.
this may or may not be the same case for yours. We will just have to wait until others chime in.
Oh and that is what I thought! Weeks ago I was frustrated for hours trying to figure it out and get my site exactly like the screen shot...lol. And, this entire time it was an upgrade...lol
Thank you so much for letting us know. I learned something new today...

I have the wordpress theme type?

The layout settings can be found somewhere in the theme settings. Normally you can choose from various ways to lay out the front page design.
In the demo, articles are presented in order by category and then date. You will need to have several categories in order to get a similar layout.
Also, many features may be available in the premium version only.
The difficult thing about designing a magazine style blog when it's new is that you need a lot of articles in several categories in order to be in control of the design. For a fresh blog with only 3-4 articles, it's difficult.
So if the theme comes with demo content, it's always a benefit to import all the demo content, lay out the design as you want it, rename categories to your choice and then when everything is ok you delete all the demo posts and start filling up with your own stuff.
Thanks for the tips! It's looking like the theme chosen will need an upgrade to premium to achieve the desired layout. I'll take a look at tweaking what I have and may upgrade. Thanks again!
You're welcome :)
I have been there myself with a fresh blog and an empty magazine style theme. It can be frustrating

So you go to my site home page, it has a list view of posts but I want it to look better. Instead of just the title and the start of the post and read more. I would like to see
This has to do with featured image functionality I think. That is at least what I did. I uploaded images towards Featured Image and then they get displayed in my blogroll automatically along with a small part of the text.
