Having your own blog / website can be a great asset. You help people, express yourself and make money with an online business that is yours for years to come. As you begin your journey in the online world you want to be successful and do things the right way. One of the questions I hear a lot is "how often should I post on my blog?" This is a great question that I will answer in this article. Let's look at this in more detail.
Is More Better?
In the beginning you may be writing and publishing more content to get your site off the ground and this is okay. Chances are Google has not picked up on your site yet so you can get away with frequent bursts of uploaded content while taking small breaks in between. However you don't want to kill yourself with writing content so much that it takes the spark away from your dream of becoming successful online making it into a chore instead of a fun hobby.
Consistency is Key

I recently heard from one of my fellow online entrepreneurs that consistency is more important than quantity. You want to set yourself a consistent schedule for posting your content. I am three posts into this website with my new schedule. I decided that no matter what I am going to post something every Monday. Whether it's a long article or just something quick that is on my mind. I want to form a habit that is not too demanding but challenges me at the same time. Remember, you can always go back and add more things to your article such as more paragraphs, internal links, etc.
Not Posting Enough?
While consistency is important you do not want to let your site go for weeks or months at a time. I understand that sometimes things happen and you may have to step away from your computer but try not to make this a habit. Stick with once a week and you will be good to go.
Why is This Important?
Google will start to pick up on your consistency and will crawl your site for new content more frequently if you give it something to look for. When your site gets crawled it gets ranked in the search engines. When it gets ranked you will start getting more traffic. More traffic leads to more clicks on ads and affiliate links, which means more money for you.
