How to Create a Post in Wordpress

Adding content to your website is the best thing you can do to get ranked in the search engines. The more content you add the more keywords you will rank for and the more traffic you will get. And with traffic comes more online income! One of the things you can do to add content is by creating posts. Posts are entries that you add to a blogroll. These entries are date stamped so visitors and the search engines can tell how old the article is. Let’s go over the steps on how to create a post in WordPress.

First Method

You can create posts using the sidebar.

Click new post.

This will bring up the following page

Second Method

You can also create a post if you are editing an existing post by clicking the icon here.

The Post is Created Now What?

From here you can start adding your content and can save as a draft or publish at any time. Keep in mind that you can edit a post no matter how old it is.

Save as a draft or post when you are finished. Remember, you can always go back and edit after you post.

Add Meta Title and Meta Description

If you have the All in One SEO Plugin you can add Your Meta Title and Meta Description and a targeted keyword. This is what will get people’s attention when they are searching on Google. Make sure it is relevant to your content.

Add Some Images

Images can really soften the look of lines after lines of text. It makes the post look more appealing.

Add a Video

Videos can really add a great user experience to your website. Try to add at least one at the end of the page to help further explain what you are writing about.
