I'm just comeback after being away for over a month. I haven't yet posted my first blog, and I've already been hacked. How can I clear out the hacker and protect my site goin

What happened is that a HOLE was created in Wordpress, by a wordpress update, and then they announced the hole and it was subsequently hacked for some users.
Site Support can get you sorted here, the newest version of Wordpress is completely secure.
I used to get my sites hacked all the time. Then, I started using the WordFence (the free version) and haven't been hacked since. That was about two years ago.
I don't know if WordFence is the best solution but I believe that is the reason for keeping hackers at bay at this point. Note, this plugin doesn't stop hackers from hacking your hosting account, just your WordPress account.
There are other measures you can take as well, such as making sure your WordPress is updated (backup first, though). Also, make sure your password is at least 11 characters long and use a combination of symbols and upper- and lowercase letters, numbers, etc.
Hope this helps.
Jim
The passwords here are 100% secure when a site is built (they cannot be hacked) and it is impossible to brute force attack any websites here at WA James.
This hole was recently created by Wordpress, they announced the hole so hackers could start hacking it, then they went on to recommend Wordfence for the fix (which they own).
It is all sorted in the latest version and if anyone ever has any issues like this, SiteSupport is help that is seconds away.
Growing freaking trend lately. From experience they will pull this. Have gotten a ton of emails like this and they are gone when I go to read them.
Let me guess. WA is your host.
This has nothing to do with us being a host, this has to do with people running older version of Wordpress which was hacked, because Wordpress ran an update that made their platform insecure...and then announced it to the world of hackers so they could commence hacking.
WA is the most secure platform in the managed Wordpress hosting industry, that is something I will stand behind.
You can fix up the posts and pages that have been hacked by using the saved revisions. Going forward make sure you update WordPress, themes and plugins. Most updates are security related. And make frequent backups of your website. Updates Full Backup With a Plugin

Ok, stupid question. I see how to ind a member's blog posts. But how do I find his/her website(s)?
Hi James, there's also a link and you can see member's webpage here
Please Give Me Feedback on My Website by Kyle
You can do a search in the search box above, if the link can't appear below Please Give Me Feedback on My Website
Hi James,
if it's not located on their profile page you can always PM the member and ask them for their website address.
Regards,
Jerome
Because it's a stupid question, I have an easy answer. No, it's not a stupid question, forgive me. The way to find a member's website is to go to their profile page and scroll all the way to the bottom. On the bottom right, it will say "Follow _____ On" and beneath will have list of website, Facebook URL, etc. However, not every WA member posts their website URL on their profile.
Hi James, you can find it in the member profile(below the photo) after his/hers blog, example: blog-training-webpage

His/hers webpage link is under the "Follow ____ on
If they do not put it on their profile on the lower right then maybe just ask them. I am not sure unless it is on their profile on the lower right.
Some members choose not to show it.
By the way, there is no stupid question so if you don't know that is what the community is here for. To help each other, we all have different things that are not so apparent to us at times.
I miss a lot of things myself, I have to ask for help a lot.

Any limits on the number of pages available?
In general I would say NO, However there are exceptions to every rule. As you are so new I can't imagine any limit that you would hit.

When a reader clicks on read more and is taken to a page. Is there a way to have an image move, flip, fade-in, bounce-in etc onto its final position on the page
I'm sure there is a plugin - but there is no need to have effects like that - they serve no real purpose and do no good.
Plus why add another plugin to your site that could potentially slow your site speed or conflict with other plugins.
Just me 2 cents
Thanks leoemery, I get your point. I didn't think about effects possibly slowing down my site. It's just that there's so little difference between most WP sites. I am looking to add a little pizazz to mine.
Stuff like that is not needed - it's truly a waste of time - and people really don't care about stuff like that, in fact most people find it annoying.
Just concentrate on creating great content and you'll be fine, that will separate you from everyone else. Not moving images
