Which Wolf Will I Feed in the Wilderness of My Mind Today?
In the American Indian culture, there is a proverb of two wolves. To make a long story short a Grandson is talking to his Grandfather. The Grandfather tells the story that proclaims two wolves live inside of each one of us, one is bad and the other one is good. He tells his Grandson they are fighting to be the dominant force within the wilderness of our minds. The Grandson asks his Grandfather which wolf will win? And the Grandfather says: “the one that you feed”.
I have found this proverb to be helpful… my mind is a wilderness where these two wolves do battle. I call them “love and fear’. The calmer side of me is where the good wolf lives and it is full of kindness, peace, and clarity. It is where I know my soul and trust my dreams.
But there’s another side of me that is full of lust and full of lies and this wolf lives in darkness and bites back every time. Some days the bright side wins and shines a light of happiness, but other days the darkness takes control. If the darkness has control, I need to be aware of it… and ask myself which wolf will I feed in the wilderness of my mind today?
They are always on the move eyeing my consciousness as if it’s food. Both wolves are so hungry, and they are fighting for my reality. So, which one am I going to feed today? When I think back to my past the only wolf that I knew was gray with sharpened claws and it attacked my every thought. That wolf is still there today, and it lives inside a cold dark cave and is hungry for my doubts and fears and it comes out of that cave and wonders the forest of my mind looking to be fed.
But also, in the wilderness of my mind is another wolf that is full of bliss and it is prepared to chase the negative one away. If I feed it with love and self-respect the good wolf is stronger than that big bad beast of emptiness and pain. I will feed the wolf of greatness, light, truth, and positivity today. I will feed it with a big slab of love and forgiveness so that it is grateful, kind, and optimistic.

Very interesting post.
I feel that way every day, it is a fighting battle, that we want to stay on track, and focus, and yet, there is this other side, that is telling us, do it tomorrow.
This analogy, can be or come in different forms, or ideas. Good vs Bad. Good choices vs. bad choices.
You need a strong person to know what you want, and what is your goal. Every morning, I choose to wake up early and do what I must do, to accomplish my goals for the day.
Make it a very great day for yourselves, and do YOU!!!, do not let the other guy mislead you into not applying yourself to do what you have set. STAY ON TRACK.
Happy Tuesday
