I grew up in Pennsylvania. I basically raised myself. Yea I had parents and two brothers and two sisters but my father was a workaholic and it was rare that I could spend time with him and my mother killed herself when I was twelve years old. My older brother and two sisters wee more interested in dating. My younger brother and I had to fin for ourselves. I finished high school and my younger brother still had two years to go and I went into the army. I had no clue what I wanted to do. Thank God that the army had a test that I had to take before I actually joined the army. The test should show what I would be good in. It came out with two things. Military intelligence or military police. Well I didn't want to be a spy so I choose MP. I went to basic training in New Jersey and while I was there some kids stoled my very expensive Crome mag wheels off of my 1967 Firebird. It was a very fast car. Too much engine for the size of the car. Someone asked my brother if he knew of anyone that wanted to buy these wheels. My brother said yes, he was very interested. They made a meeting after school. My brother said that he would be back with the money. He came back with the police. I got my wheels back and they went to juvenile detention. Then I went to fort Gorden Georga for MP training. When I was done they asked me where I wanted to be stationed. You had to give three places. I put down Hawaii, Japan or the USA. I got Germany! Why did they even ask? It turned out that I loved Germany. I loved the people there. I'm not a beer drinker. The Germans love there beer. I finished my tour and decided that I did not want to make a living as an MP. I came back to the USA and I signed up for unemployed benefits till I could get a job. My sister had a friend that worked for a home heating company. He got me a job there. I advanced to master tech. And was the highest pad tech there. I kept calling this chimney sweep every time there was a chimney problem. He asked me many times to come and work for him. A year later I did. I said hey why don't we offer heating service. We became partners and later I bought him out. I would get my chimney supplies from a local wood stove store. The owner asked me if I would consider installing his stoves that he sold. I looked at the stoves and manuals on how to install and I said that it looks quite easy. I said that I would do a few and see if I really liked it. I did. There was a couple reasons. First I would not have to advertise. That was a big plus. I could service the stoves that I installed on the off season. Year round steady work. I worked for them for 30 years till I came down with mouth cancer. After radiation and chemotherapy treatments along with major surgery, I can no longer talk where you can understand me and I can eat or drink through the mouth. I miss the taste of food. I was forced to retire. So here I am trying to build a website. Thanks to wealthyaffiliate, I'll be just fine.
