How can I open my adsense plugin if it doesn't show up on my dash board side bar like the other installed plugins?

I saw that this plugin requires PHPv5.3 +, so check that the site has that.

Thank you, I deleted and tried another plugin and it worked out for me. Thanks you for your help

I recommend you leave them blank. If you do then search engines decide what they show.

Here's an example of the difference http://d.pr/i/ay7Y

The keyword is "afternoon tea", but I've searched for "afternoon tea at the ritz". The first result shows Google deciding what to show from the post and emboldening my search term. The second one has a forced description so it doesn't show my search term.

I believe people are more likely to click on a result that shows their search term in bold than one that doesn't show it at all.

It also saves wasting time and effort crafting "perfect" descriptions, especially as Google seems to be ranking higher content that doesn't have such descriptions!

Jay @magistudios believes that you will rank faster if you fill in SEO titles and descriptions. However, I'm happy to trade speed for higher ranking and more click throughs. :)

Thank you so much...I will them as is in future...thanks for your time
John

No probs. you're most welcome! :)

Can you say what you mean by "the number count always goes over as it keeps the automatic one"?

You might want to know that total number includes your site title as well, together with the post title. Does this help?

Hi Jvranjes...The title is automatically in the box but if I click in the box and add the same title myself, the number count goes up as adding to the auto one in there. I read Loes link above and that has answered my question.
Thanks for helping...

If you have found the answer then all is fine.

But something in your description is strange. If you did not add anything in the box, it will show the character count which describes only your site title (although AIO plugin adds the post title in pale letters). You will see the site title displayed above the box and you will realize that this is your character count.

Now when you add your post title manually, the characters from the post will be added to the previous number, and your full title will be displayed above the box together with the previously visible site title.

Yes correct when I click in the box to add my own title I see the blue title disappears and reappears as I type, but the letter count just adds to the one that the SEO adds automatically. After watching Loes's link I will not add anything in the Title box anymore...seems what the recommendation is...
Thanks for your time and hope I didn't waste it for you. Cheers

I just re-read you reply....So are you saying I should add my title manually and don't worry about the extra letter count? I am a bit confused!

Please see again what I wrote. The post title and the site title characters are added up. And yes, do type the title manually, if you exceed the length, it will be the site title that will be truncated first. No need to be confused.

I disagree with what Rich writes. Google may change the title, but this does not happen always, this is more with meta description. On the other hand, Bing expects you to type meta title, see my training about it. I always type it.

Ok got you..thank you...I guess everyone just focuses on Google without thinking of the other search engines.
Thanks again much appreciated

I believe this training might help you

Thank you so much Loes....I get it now. As always you are on the ball for me...Much appreciated :-))

Glad you've managed John

I have shifted a page to the side bar but when I refreshed the page it is now in 2 places. On the Header as a page and in the side bar. Do I delete the page from the header af

NO you don't have to delete it. It will just move to the side bar.

Thank you Marion. All good now. I will keep this as a reference for next time. My memory isn't as good as it used to be. Thank god for WA. People always around to help. :-)

I have created a sidebar title and shifted the page to the side bar successfully following instructions from lessons. I want to free up one of the header page space for new pages that I have in Drafts but the page is still there. John'Helpful Hints is now in 2 places

Ok got you now.
You have to go into Appearances - Menus - have the right Menu showing on the right side of the page - find the one you want to delete - click on the little black triangle and click delete ay the bottom.

Remember to click SAVE Button at the bottom of the page
Let me know how you get on but I will be signing off soon as its getting late.
Robert
ps
did you put the post in a widget on the Sidebar?
Just curious.

Perfect thanks Robert. Did as you instructed and worked a charm. Yes I put the page in the widget and I have clicked it and it worked as well. Thanks for your help and I am signing off as well as it is 3.18 am for me as well.

Many thanks for your time. John

no probs and I'm off too

I just tried Robert but the the page header was still there and the content disappeared. I don't think that is the answer

what site is it and I will take a look and you definitely have 2 posts content showing or is it just the Title in the Sidebar (I'm thinking you must have one hell of a big Sidebar to show a full article
Robetr

seems the logical thing to do
