Blogging - When My Depression Is Up

I have been struggling writing the last couple days.

It is because my depression has been up. I still fight the depression, but there are times even I, a very positive guy, cannot overcome it.

It is hard for me to be creative at writing on something serious on my main blog site. The whole niche is very serious.

I read a blog post tonight that actually shared some great ideas and I actually was able to write a "fun" 1,000 word content blog tonight.

I also know for my blog to be great I need to treat it like a real business.

In this I have been thinking of ways to really push the envelope of what methods and processes I need to do to keep my blog moving forward and not to start sitting still with no new postings.

It needs to move forward as all businesses go. If it ever stops it will start losing readers and attraction.

This is why I have made the decision to write up a schedule and abide by it on a daily basis. I will always leave a couple days open for time off or sick days. But my daily objectives will be done each day that I work. That means five days a week I will do five daily objectives:

  • One day a week I will leave and ask for feedbacks only.
  • One day a week I will write a nice length or start a very long blog post. At the end of this day I will share the completed and posted blog.
  • One day a week I will leave and ask for comments only.
  • One day a week I will write my fun post. At the end of this day I will share posted blog.
  • One day a week i will write a nice length or finish a very long blog post. At the end of this day I will share the completed and posted blog.
Other important things I will be working on weekly and monthly.

I will be working on other writings that I am working on:

  • Training materials related to my niche website.
  • Self-help and informative books related to my niche website.
  • Sci-Fi and Fantasy writings I would like to get back into working on.
  • Go to events and advertise for my niche and selling of my writings, whatever type they may be for the type of event I am at.

I have discovered that the best thing for me to do is to keep my mind busy at all times. My anxiety, stress, PTSD, and depression are all controlled by me better if I force myself to keep myself mentally stimulated with busy activities.

I hope sharing some if this will be inspirational for others to keep working hard at their blogs. I did 10 comments tonight and I recieve about the same amount back with my comment requests. I think that shows work effort that paid off.

I also posted the "fun" thousand word post that I wrote today too.

Stay sharp. Keep writing. Whatever you do keep treating your blog as a business and you will see business type results.

We can do this together.

Good luck to all you fellow, Wealthy Affiliates!

Hi, your blog caught my eye because I just wrote a blog about myself and me having bipolar disorder and I think that would be great if you get a chance to read it. I understand what you are going through.

I think that it might help you out. If you want to ever talk or need to talk I am here for you and I am available at any time.

Mary

Sounds awesome! PM me your website and I will be sure to jump on and “snoop” around lol. I used to have a sister-in-law who was bi-polar so I know how hard it is for you!

Just don’t give up. You are not alone!

Here is the article that I wrote about depression and I will send you both my URL and you can tell me what you think about them both if you would mind. Many thanks and I really appreciate that.

Great post. You've inspired me to do more. Setting a schedule would probably help me achieve my goals. Thank you.

You can do it! If you set your mindset to one thing and refuse to look at the negatives around it, you will find it is possible.

Remember Edison never failed once when he discovered how to make the light bulb. He discovered 999 ways that would not work!

Great perspective!

Thanks for sharing. I like the schedule you have set for yourself and your openess about your situation. Keep on keeping on mate! You’ve got this!

Most, thanks for the encouragement. I try to always leave my life more as an open book. Seams simpler that way.

Great Commitment Jake!

Writing is most definitely therapeutic in itself, we all have those days when it all seems bit much.

Keep writing and sharing mate!

Regards

Glen

Thanks, Glen.

This is something I love doing. For the longest time (years) though I could not feel where my writing would really shine. After I was injured last year i lost it completely.

In the last month I finally was able to get in rekindled again.
