Back in Action
I've been slacking lately.
Well, not entirely. I've still managed to post at least one article a week on FoodiO.org, as well as tend to my social media marketing. However, I haven't done anything on Mom-and-popmarketing.com in quite sometime. I will be amending that very soon.
Why was I slacking, you may ask.
I did too much at once.
I went from being super productive and focused, to not moving forward with the training or posting nearly as much as I was. There's a number of reasons for this. The main one being I overloaded myself. I created FoodiO and Mom and Pop Marketing to help people. I even started a Patreon page (www.patreon.com/JaemiO) to help fund my mission. Things were going well until I realized I should've started one, got it into my routine, and then moved to the next step. In the midst of overwhelming myself, I started another business (which took off faster than I anticipated) and started a website for Sunnyside (a partnership between my father and I), plus well, life.
I decided to "take a break" from the Sunnyside website for a while because it's main function was to promote the business and inform current and potential customers. The articles on it were doing that, so I felt comfortable stepping back. I continued to post on FoodiO, while re-branding a bit. As for Mom and Pop, I realized I needed a full reboot.
I still have the same goals for Mom and Pop, however, I want it to be more streamlined on the website. I am 99% done with Foodio's re-branding, have completed the update on Patreon (which helped to reduce my web-based stress tremendously), and will be working on Mom and Pop's overhaul over the next several weeks.
In all of this, the training I have completed stuck well. It was that training that made me realize I was simply doing to much.
To be a successful blogger, all you have to do is:
- Post
- Review
-Repeat
The training here at Wealthy Affiliate (WA) teaches you how to do this well. Don't lose sight of this simple system. I spent almost a decade trying to crack the code and losing precious money in the process; In my first two weeks at WA I created a monthly income of just over $60/month and it has continued.
Imagine if I'd kept the exact same system going in the time I've been here, instead of scrambling around reinventing the wheel.
Don't do what I did. Do what our successful founders have taught us to do.
