Trying to figure out what expectations are reasonable.

I have never done digital marketing (or any kind of sales), but certainly see the possibilities with this venue. I am not certain what is a reasonable goal to shoot for considering my current time limits. I know that, in order to make this work, I need to put in time and effort...consistently. I don't have any qualms about using my "free" time doing this. Just not sure how quickly I can expect to see results.

I am totally committed to making this change in my life. At the same time, I realize that I need to have a balanced life in order to keep my sanity. Since my current job during the week takes almost ALL of my waking hours, I need to allow myself time to do other things on the weekend too. Saving Grace - I have a time limit. In October, I will be able to free up more time towards my digital marketing career. Until then, I only have the weekend...10 hours max if I save time for me.

I realize that IF my goals are not realistic ( = too high), I run the risk of being discouraged because I don't seem to be getting anywhere. I don't know what is reasonable and yet don't want to set my goals too low either. So....maybe a different approach is helpful.

If I translate my $ goals into an hourly wage, I can say that within a year I would be hoping to earn at least $30.00/ 40 hour week ($4,800.00/ month) or about $62,000.00/ year. Is that reasonable? Given that I can only put in 10 hours / week at present, I would make $300.00/ week in ??? 6 months??? ..until I can put in more time. From what I understand of this business, that is not only totally reachable, but VERY LOW !!! Once I get over the first hurdle - find a niche and get an initial website with traffic set up - I will get better and better at this, and be able to compound my income more rapidly the longer I do it. I guess the first step is to stop trying to overthink and just do it! It will come. (Stop being so serious! )

So, I am currently a computer marketing trainee, getting my toe in the water. No worries. It will all work out for the best. I have no pressure to make this work or be homeless. I am able to do this at my own speed. What a wonderful way to learn. I get to play / learn new stuff (computer marketing) with the only outcome that it will eventually start earning me money! Cool! I LOVE learning new stuff.
