Can anyone else help? No luck with answer from SiteSupport who referred me to training that I already told them doesn't apply because I am using a template.
Here is the situ
Presumably by template you mean theme?
A theme is just a lens that your site is viewed through so you can change your theme without affecting your content.
This training on menus might help: Hey WordPress, What's on the Menu? and Categories, Tags and Menus
Site Support has always solved my issues timely in the past. What is Commission Academy? I stay within the platfrom. Just curious.
Jeff
Commission academy is another affiliate marketing trainer and i trained with them, they are affiliated with WA and our websites are created here but via a different training package.
Hello, Dale here from Commission Academy - we recommend using GeneratePress (as does WA) & there is training on every aspect of the customization of GeneratePress. GP also has the best documentation of any theme available: https://docs.generatepress.com/
The appearance tab shouldn't be removed by any theme, so that's weird, but you can access your themes page by copying this URL into your browser and replacing domain.com with your actual domain: https://domain.com/blog/wp-admin/themes.php
If you tell SiteSupport that your "Appearance" section isn't there, they will repair any issues for you because that is not standard WordPress behaviour.

How do you move posts into a custom menu when using a site template?

You can assign categories to your individual posts via the post editor and then when creating your main menu add a Category drop down that would take your audience to all the posts in that category.
Sometimes it helps to go back through the specific training lessons now that you have a little more understanding under your belt.
The training lesson on creating custom menus still applies no matter which theme, or template, you've chosen for your website.
thanks. i went through the training but it doesn't apply. There is new training I see that might. The original training doesn't because my dashboard only has themes and beta under the appearance tab. I will try the other training but frankly I have been so busy with other stuff plus had issues with needing to get my laptop fixed which I have only just got back so haven't gotten around to doing anything else about sorting this out yet. Hopefully i will get time this weekend. thanks for your reply. Much appreciated.

Hi folks, I'm having a panic again. I appear to have lost my sign-up form. I changed my template for my website weeks ago, and it was a bad move because I lost a lot of stuff d
Are you using shortcodes? And if that may be got misplaced.
You need to check your form and see what is on there.
Kindly let us know if you were able to figure it out.
Hello Jacqueline, I am not techy at all. In fact, I am also having trouble getting stuff like I want it.
When I moved my site to a new theme (Generate press), I also lost a few things.
I notified Support support, and they got it straightened out for me, so I would suggest getting with them.
I hope you get it fixed soon. I know how frustrating it can be.
Best wishes, Chet
you probably have selected a full site editing theme - which means you have almost full control over what is shown ...
but not always the most intuitive of methods to edit the sites appearance...
under appearance do you have customize or editor beta...
if the latter then it is a fse theme and you should be able to edit the right sidebar and add the form code to there...
not watched this but there is a ton of tutorials out there on the fse...
must have a go with it at some time...

I googled it! Good old google saved the day. It didn't give the exact instructions but I modified them to suit the editor beta and now have my form back. Yey! Thanks for your help.

I decided to try out a blog template and hated it. I cannot seem to revert to my original website. Can anyone tell me how to do this? If not, then can someone explain how to ad
Hey, Jacqueline, you are not alone! Every time I get something figured out, I mess something else up. That's how we learn one step at a time.
I agree with Frank! Site Support is fantastic here--go up to the Help tab at the top and put in a ticket!

Hi, Jacqueline
There’s no need to panic, here at WA. Anything you break can be fixed.
Site Support completely backs up your site every 24 hours. You can also make your own backups by using a plugin, like Updraft.
For future reference, if you decide to make significant changes to your site, you can have Site Support make you a free “Stagging Copy.”
This a completely functional clone of your site that is not online. It’s like your laboratory that you can use to try out new things for as long as you like, without affecting the operation of your online website.
Enjoy the Weekend, 😎
Frank 🎸
That's good to know because I will inevitably mess something up! I'm great at not being techy, LOL
No worries, Chester. Accidentally "messing something up" with your site is one of the best ways to learn! 😎
Enjoy your weekend!

I agree. That's what I used to tell my carpenters you won't learn till you mess up. Now the shoe is on the other foot, and I am an accident waiting on a place to happen LOL
Thank you so much. Sorry, I have been unwell and haven't been in WA for almost a week. That's great news about the backup.
If you used GeneratePress as recommended, here's how to reset it: https://generatepress.com/forums/topic/reset-the-theme-and-plugin/
Nope, Commission Academy teaches you to install GeneratePress, so you should be all set - just follow those instructions :)
I think I might just have panicked a bit. It all seems to be working better now I have logged out and back in again. So, I think I will stick with this template for now. The only thing missing is my logo. I will see if I can review my notes for Commission Academy on adding that; otherwise, I will ask via the website support as per Abby. Thanks for your help!
You may ask site support for assistance with a previous version of your website.

You may find you need to change the theme like you just said.

To change your theme, here is what to do.
You may go to Appearance > Themes and add new.
Input what you are looking for, install and activate.
Your content will be left intact; you may lose out on CSS styles and social media icons if, however, with a bit of tweaking, you are done.
We always recommend leaving a backup theme; you may do with the Twenty TwentyThree.
I hope this helps

That's awesome.
You may go to Appearance > Customize and then site identity, upload a logo and a favicon if you like.

Can anyone advise how to add a banner from amazon to a post? I can't seem to get it added properly. Thanks in advance for any help!
thank you so much. I didn't realize it was the same as adding a link with an image. Thanks again, much appreciated.
Do you know how to find the HMTL coding for your WP?
See Screenshot
Log into your account at Amazon Affiliate
Click on "Banners" under the "Product Linking" tab on the top black bar.
Scroll down and select the category you want to get a banner from.
Choose which size banner you want by clicking on the size below the category you chose from the list
Copy the HTML code below the banner you want and then paste the code in for your website.
It should show up. I tested it, and it worked.
Thank you yes, I have used it several times now to add links but hadn't realized I had to add a banner the same way. Thanks for taking the time to reply.
