Goals and motivation for 2016

It's been around a week since I've joined WA and I've already accomplished so much! I'd like to give myself a big pat on the back and set some new goals for the following year.

I hope that I will look back on this post if I'm ever feeling lost or down and hopefully find the motivation to continue!

1. Don't put too much on your plate

Dear future Jacki, I know you'll be tempted to try and accomplish everything at once, but know that success doesn't happen overnight. Do one thing at a time and do it well. Don't try to cram in school, friends, and your website all at once. Best solution? Dedicate at least one weekday and one weekend a week to work on your website.

2. Failure is inevitable

I know you will for sure fail at least once next year. If everything starts falling apart, don't worry! Failure only invites change. If something isn't working out, take a moment to just sit back, relax, and change courses! Don't be too hard on yourself. No one is perfect.

3. Stick to your passion

This one's a big one. I know that you'll perhaps feel like you're not in the right niche, or that you're writing the content all wrong. Just know that you picked cats for a reason! If you're ever feeling uninspired, don't worry. Everyone goes through phases like that. Don't do anything stupid and stick to what you've got!

4. It's not a race

Remember, success isn't about who gets their first. It might take you one year or a thousand years to climb over that mountain, but it doesn't matter about the TIME! The only thing that does is if you've accomplished your initial goal. If people around you are succeeding, that's great! You should be inspired and motivated to work even better!

5. HAVE FUN

Last of all, the most important thing is to HAVE FUN! The only reason why you decided to take up this challenge was to avoid working. Don't let this turn into work. If you start dreading it, then you know it's time for change!

So future me, I know you're able to accomplish whatever goals you set for yourself as long as you never give up! Don't lose the true meaning of why you started in the first place. Have fun and expect miracles!
