What's On Your Christmas List?
As the season of giving is nearing, what is on your Christmas wish list? For me it really is peace on earth and goodwill to all men. My husband has asked me numerous times want I want for Christmas and my answer is always the same "NOTHING". I have everything I could possible need and want. (Well, I could use a new ipad, but I told him that would be a great anniversary gift, since my anniversary is Jan 1st.) Just waking up Christmas morning in itself is the greatest gift of all,(and no man has the authority or power to give that gift) and I will rejoice and be glad in it!
It is my desire that all mankind really celebrate the true meaning of Christmas. Do we even know how many people don't have a clue about why we celebrate Christmas. For a lot of children it's all about the gifts under the tree Christmas morning.
What does this special day mean to you?

You know Christmas can be a rough time of the year because that is really when you realize your paycheck is not your source but rather your resource and mine is bad. I want to give more than my paycheck will allow me. In the gift giving area we are broke this year. I have a huge shopping site out there just praying sales will come in time. But now that I got that out of the way. Christmas is a lot more than people credit it. In the bible days a messiah was promised to the Jews, Gods chosen people to save them from their sins. Even about 800 years before Christ birth the whole prophesy was in plans. Jesus was the gift to this world, but few people knew this at that time. Another thing have you read that he came to shepherds not kings and priest, (the average working man). When Jesus was born he was laid in a manger a place for grain to make bread, isn't it something that Jesus said he is the bread of life, again part of the prophesy fulfilled. The part of being born of a virgin takes man's hands out of it because Jesus had to be pure. This again was prophesy in that God looks at perfection not sin. Later on as you know Jesus was tempted and overcome Satan's ways. Jesus main purpose was to give us a new start through his death and Resurrection and took back the world from Satan that Adam and Eve gave him through their disobedience to God. I heard a preacher say one time that the reason that Jesus lived 33 years, if I am not mistaken about his age is When Jesus rose again God looks at Jesus not our sins because God hates sin. But when we accept Jesus as our savior our debt has been paid. And Jesus gave us a credit of 33 perfect years to our account for God to look at. Isn't that wonderful God looks at Jesus not us Jesus looks at us with his grace and mercy, so we will be able to go to heaven and live eternally. Well I better stop before I write a book here. And again this is my belief if you don't believe this way I respect your rights to believe the way you choose to worship.
Thanks Robert
Jesus is the one and only reason for this blessed season! He came on Christmas Day
over 2000 years ago so that we can be reconciled back to his Father! I have a very strong Christ like faith much like yours.
This season isn't about the gifts that we can give, rather the gift that we were given! Even though your resources may be short, I know a Savior who can make something out of nothing! I have actually witnessed money multiply not only in my wallet, but my bank account. Trust and never doubt that what you need, you will be given!
Robert, I wish you a very Merry Christ.....mas! May The Lord continue to bless and keep you is my prayer!
Hi - it means the spirit of giving - I just hate how the shops all cash in on it (but they are in business, so I can also see their side). It's about family and friends - and forgetting about the hard times - and enjoying the company of those around you.
For those who have no-one - I can only imagine it is an incredibly sad time of year - that's why at my work, we give money for "dressing down" and "football cards" etc - and it's why I put whatever change I have into collection boxes when you're on our way out of the supermarket with £100 of food and drink, that you are going to spend having a good time with friends and family.
I don't ever think you should feel guilty about that - because I know that I, and probably everyone that's here in WA, are doing this to better their lives for their families and friends - and if we ever earn enough to satisfy that, I have every intention of doing more than throwing a few pennies into a collection box. I did Movember this year, and raised over £50 - that will all go to a good cause. I cant wait to do so little, to help so much again next year, and for ever more.
My children know how spoiled they are - and it's all relative - they are spoiled compared to the "poor kids" in the area - they are hard done by, by the "rich kids" in the area - but I guarantee you, by the time they leave school, they will know you don't get something for nothing (they already know this).
One of my main aims in life is, after having kids, is to make them appreciate 100% how privileged they are - and to think about those who are not so privileged, and work towards making a better life for themselves, and building a better community for the kids who didn't have the same privileges they have had.
Unfortunately, I think the true meaning of Christmas has been lost - even in the short time since I was a child. So I think it's down to parents and guardians to ensure the spirit remains - and I truly hope it does - it would be such a loss to forget what it's all about, and just focus on "getting presents for us"!
All the best, Mark
You have got the spirit of Christmas in your heart. Keep up the good work with your children. They will appreciate it as they get older, I know mine do!

You are absolutely right , we need to get back to the true meaning of Christmas, and keep it in our hearts all year round, great post..
Merry Christ mas
I too always say "Nothing", but always would like to add "maybe just...".
Christmas and New Year is always about joy of giving and joy of receiving from the bottom of a heart.
Christmas is a special time of year , we all get to think more about others than ourselves .. Great post !
Thank you for taking the time to read my blog. I agree Christmas is a very special time of year.
