How I Use ChatGPT To Find the Perfect Keyphrase for Every Blog Post

If you struggle to get the green light in Yoast SEO, finding the right keyphrase can feel frustrating. I used to waste time guessing what keyword to use for every post, but now I use ChatGPT to help me choose the perfect keyphrase in just a few minutes.

This simple method helps me create shorter, clearer, and more SEO-friendly keyphrases that match my content and improve my chances of ranking.

Why the Right Keyphrase Matters

Your focus keyphrase tells search engines what your blog post is about. A good keyphrase should:

  • Match the main topic of your post
  • Be easy to understand
  • Sound natural
  • Not be too long
  • Be used in your title, slug, headings, and meta description

For example, instead of using a long phrase like:

“Easy Homemade Toners For Glowing Skin: Beginner Friendly Recipes”

I ask ChatGPT to shorten it into a better focus keyphrase:

“homemade toners for glowing skin”

That shorter version is easier to use in Yoast SEO and usually gets the green light faster.

The Exact Prompt I Use

Whenever I write a new blog post, I paste my title into ChatGPT and use this prompt:

My blog post title is: [paste your title here]

Give me:

  • the best focus keyphrase
  • an SEO title
  • a short slug
  • a meta description
  • 4 heading ideas

Make the keyphrase short and easy to rank for.

Then ChatGPT gives me everything I need for Yoast SEO.

Blog post title:

“Easy Homemade Toners For Glowing Skin: Beginner Friendly Recipes”

ChatGPT gave me:

  • Focus keyphrase: homemade toners for glowing skin
  • SEO title: Homemade Toners for Glowing Skin – Easy DIY Recipes
  • Slug: homemade-toners-for-glowing-skin
  • Meta description: Discover homemade toners for glowing skin with easy DIY recipes using natural ingredients.

Example 2

Blog post title:

“DIY Face Packs For Skin Brightening: 5 Easy Recipes That Work”

ChatGPT gave me:

  • Focus keyphrase: DIY face packs for skin brightening
  • SEO title: DIY Face Packs for Skin Brightening: 5 Easy Recipes That Work
  • Slug: diy-face-packs-for-skin-brightening
  • Meta description: Try these DIY face packs for skin brightening with 5 easy recipes made from natural ingredients.

How I Know the Keyphrase Is Correct

After I get the keyphrase from ChatGPT, I make sure I use the exact same phrase in:

  • The SEO title
  • The URL slug
  • The first paragraph
  • At least one heading
  • The meta description
  • The conclusion
  • The image alt text

For example, if my keyphrase is “homemade toners for glowing skin,” I also use that exact phrase as the alt text for my main image.

That helps Yoast SEO recognize that the image matches the article.

My Trick for Red Keyphrases

Sometimes Yoast still shows red because the keyphrase is too long.

When that happens, I ask ChatGPT:

Shorten this focus keyphrase so it is easier for Yoast SEO to rank:

[paste your keyphrase]

Usually ChatGPT removes extra words and gives me a better version.

For example:

  • Too long: easy homemade toners for glowing skin beginner friendly recipes
  • Better: homemade toners for glowing skin

How I Use ChatGPT for Every Blog Post

Now every time I create a new article, I follow this simple routine:

  1. Write the blog title
  2. Paste the title into ChatGPT
  3. Ask for the focus keyphrase, slug, SEO title, and meta description
  4. Add the keyphrase throughout the article
  5. Check Yoast SEO until everything turns green

This saves me time and helps me optimize every post without guessing.

Final Thoughts

ChatGPT has made SEO much easier for me. Instead of struggling to find the right keyphrase, I can quickly get a keyword that matches my post and works with Yoast SEO.

If you create blog posts often, try using ChatGPT before you publish. It can help you find the perfect focus keyphrase, write better SEO titles, and get more green lights on your content.
