The Journey Ahead

My Journey Thus Far

To me, this all started about a year ago. I grew up playing soccer, have been playing it since the age of (7). Although I liked playing it, I didn't get serious into the sport until I was 17. I quickly started to realize that I had talent and that I could achieve something If I just put in the work. This to me was something that I wanted to do. I have always struggled with finding what I wanted to do with my life. All through high school and my 2 years in college I had no idea what I wanted to do when it came to my education, but what I did want to do was give soccer a shot. For once I had felt like I knew what I wanted to do, and it took away a lot of stress from my life. I was well on track in following my dreams.

August 18th, 2017 will always be a date that I remember. I was playing an Alumni game for my school (where former seniors who have already graduated from the school play the current varsity team). I was dribbling with the ball, when one of the seniors pushed me. My whole body twisted except my left knee. I tore my ACL that day.

I thought that It was the end of the world for me. Everything that I had worked up to that point had crumbled right in front of me. Probably the worst emotional feeling that I have ever experienced in my life. I spent a month or so with just being sad and angry at life. Often question "why me"? As any athlete from any sport, hearing an orthopedic tell you that you tore your ACL can really turn your life upside down. I was in denial for about a month but then I finally realized that It happens to anyone, and that I had to push through and continue to move forward. I vowed to myself that I would return the same way I left the pitch.

December 15th, 2017 I had surgery on my left knee. The first month has terrible, I couldn't do much besides lay in bed, but the leg brace that they give you is something that could drive you nuts. I couldn't really sleep because it was a "must" to keep the leg brace on for the whole month. A month later I finally got out the brace and was able to start walking (you literally have to teach yourself how to walk again).

April 3rd, 2018: My recovery is going amazing. My therapist has told me multiple times that Im on track with my recovery. I've already started jogging (still have trouble trying to run though). I just keep reminding myself what I vowed to last year, and it keeps helping me push forward. Since an ACL is a 9+ month recovery, I have learned how to be a lot more patient, and also how to be persistent.

Why is this important?

Well even though I love soccer and I want to go back to playing it. Last month had me thinking that I need a back up plan. That I needed something that will give me the opportunity of financial freedom.

I went looking around, I came across Amazon fba, dropshipping, shopify, but none of them really caught my attention, but then I came across affiliate marketing (wealthyaffiliate specifically). Now I came across a lot of scams, so I was sceptical like any other person at first. I went looking for reviews on youtube and google, and to my surprise all the reviews were great. What also made me believe that wealthyaffiliate wasn't a scam was the fact that they weren't promoting your typical "get rich fast" scams.

I joined last month, and let me tell you it's been nothing but an amazing journey. Yes, at first i joined because I wanted to make tons of money or have the opportunity to do so just like another person, but as I kept progressing through the training, I have been enjoying it in general. I just like the whole aspect of it, and it's already becoming something I love to do. Now i know it will take a while for me to actually start making the big bucks, but im in it for the marathon not the sprint.

I know there will be bumps on my journey and there will be times when it's going to be hard, but if there's anything that Ive been learning through my ACL recovery is that if we want something we have to be persistent. We need to have the drive, and the proper mindset, and most importantly never give up.

I became a premium member 3 days after and since then I've never looked back.

Great Post. I love the expressiion that 'Everything Happens for a Reason', even if we don't understand the reason at the time, things always have a way of working out for the best!

Enjoy the journey, and Good Luck,
Lisa

Great post. Sorry to hear of your injury. I assume your niche is either soccer related or tied to your injury experience and helping others in similar situations. If not, I would recommend it as it seems you could speak as an authority since you lived it. I’ve only been here for less than 2 weeks but I too upgraded to premium on day 3.

I wish you success and full recovery.

Scott

Thank you very much, and actually no hah but you gave me a great idea for my next niche so thank you ! my niche is actually hair. I forgot to mention that. I got really into hair and just hot to keep it healthy, prevent hair loss, best hair products and such., but thank you for wishing me success.

Youll like it here, the community is amazing ! looking forward to reading your website ! wish you nothing but the best as well !

Glad I could redirect your inspiration back at you. The way you described your story it just struck me as the perfect niche for you. Nothing shows you’re an authority like describing your actual experience.

As for the hair loss angle, you might have a client here LOL.

Scott
