As I sit here on the couch, working from home and son is napping, I cant help but wonder and hope that this will not be the only time I get to do this type of action. Typically working in the call center, I seem to not be able to focus as much on the tasks at hand. Normally, during my work day, I am at my desk looking at two screens, going back and forth between emails, google documents, and messaging systems. It gets tiring. I sit on my couch and think about the day that I no longer have to be at a desk, looking at computer screens.
I started out, after high school, in the optical industry. Selling, ordering, making, and dispensing prescription glasses is what I am good at doing. Having 14 years in it, it seems to come easy to me. After 14 years, I was came to by the President and VP to come and work with my wife running a call center. After lots of prayer, we decided it would be better for both of us to join with her. Started with 50 agents. 6 months later, we open a second location in Las Vegas and we grow our company to 200 agents. It is a very different call center than the typical call center. We call to help people and weather events play the largest factor in all of our hiring needs. Here we are, 2 years later and I am able to work from home a couple days a week to get the bigger picture items completed. I'm not the happiest though. Is it me? Is it something I am doing? Is there something that can change to make things better? I've tried Amway, I've tried LIFE, and although decent programs, I do not think they are the best. I'm not good with selling things that I am not excited about. I'm great at selling glasses. I know glasses. I wanted something that I can learn and grow and be happy "selling" these things to people. When the day comes that I finally upgrade Wealthy Affiliate, I will be ready to really knock it out. I want to learn. I want to succeed. I want to grow. I will be happy. I'm a happy guy.
Well, son is up from nap now. Have to go get him.

Hello Adam and welcome to Wealthy Affiliate. Thanks for the follow. I am following you as well obviously. As I read your blog a few things came to mind and I will share them, not necessarily in order of appearance. The most important thing to grasp is that Wealthy Affiliate is not in the sales business. We help people resolve concerns, solve problems, etc. That said, the something else that was actually exciting to me is that one of the first things you will be doing is finding your niche. When I reconcile the two thoughts I got excited because it appears you already have a niche...something to do with opthalmology. You sold glasses? Those customers had concerns with their eyesight...hmm! I will stop there. :) Oh and the time your son is napping won't be the only time you have to work on building your business.
I know its not a sales business. Sorry if it came across as I was saying it was. One of my niche's will have to do with glasses and eyes in general. I actually am working at my full time job right now, just at home and made lunch already and sat and wanted to get the blog aspect going. Thanks for the support. You're not alone. I work at night. So, when I am the single parent, my day is so packed I hardly have time for my business. Sleep gets sacrificed because I am determined stay on task and the schedule I have made to reach my goals. You will find a balance once you really get going.
