The Marathon Run vs The Quick Sprint

Well this one is going to be short. That small website was hard hit because of Covid and Amazon commission changes. Being geared to US clients and being in the outdoor niche didn't help. Covid really brought sales to a halt so much, that at the end of April the site made $5 and made about $4 at the end of May.

The good news is that at the end of June it ramped back up to $24 or so (nowhere near its $70+ dollar max monthly income) but an improvement nonetheless.

So far this month it is at $19, so will probably end in the regions of the same $25. Amazon's reduction In commissions didn't help either.

So what's the plan - I am going to continue building it but at a slower pace. I realize that along with the changes that Covid has brought, and the commission change, the price point may really be too low. I will be starting a new site outside of Amazon and focusing my energies there, while slowly adding content to this one.

It's been a great experience so far with this small site though - we all must be willing to be in it for the marathon and make the neccesary adjustments along the way, instead of hoping to run a quick sprint with medals and adulation at the end.
