Has training overlooked holistic overview of website development
In working my way through the training, it appears to me that it's missing a general view of how members (or beginners) anyway will build a web site. Fundamentally you build the pages you want for a website in the site content area, then you publish them to your domains/ websites. Once on the domains, you need to modify the pages within the website/ domain itself, but also insert any links required to make the page visible/ available (if it's not a Post). As such content area and your websites can be seen as two distinctly separate areas. Moreover as alluded to, for Posts, since these go to the post area and will be instantly visible on a site, Pages (once posted) need to be configured in the admin part of the site to make them visible on the site.
This is the type of explanation that would have been useful to me up front - and a complementary diagram would also be useful. I was somewhat confused earlier having seen a number under 'unposted' shown alongside the number of 'posted' pages. I thought I could unpost a page to make changes, but I am still not sure how you unpost a page (there's no button to do this I can see) or even what an unposted page is.

If you want to "unpost" something you "save draft" instead of publish in the wordpress back office in the post area itself. It is in the upper right hand corner of the page. See Image below.
If you use site content to post your article it will always publish live.
Hi Brianna -
Many thanks for this. Are we saying then that if you save draft, a copy of the draft shows in Site content as 'unpublished'.
Correct!
