A Slightly Different Approach

I have completed the training up to Course 2, Lesson 2 and I have a framework and some content on my site. Kyle talked about setting up pages in the course, but for my site, I wanted to continue to create posts without having to add to the pages. I am not sure, if I did this the best, but instead of creating a menu that navigated to pages, I created a menu that navigated to the categories.

Now all of my posts still show up on the front page, but then when a menu item is hit, only those posts having to do with that category are shown, giving the reader just what they are looking for.

I am not sure if this is a good strategy or not, but until I can figure out how to add to a single page, this just seemed more efficient.

If you are reading this, I would really, really appreciate any guidance you can give me on if this approach looks like it would lend it self to solving problems, and then having the ability to market products that would help.

The website is http://learntorunfar.com.

Any constructive criticism would be appreciated.

Thank you,

Brad "IronGoof" Minus

I like the set up Brad (but I would because I use a similar technique on one of my sites). Your site is looking really good - very clean and professional. :) Beverley

I think the site looks very nice, easy to navigate around, Well done proving the Orthopedist and neurosurgeon wrong by the way :)

I like the setup, it helps one find exactly what they are looking for!

Thank you so much. I appreciate you looking at it.

I tried this strategy once as well. There is also the option to have the categories listed on a side menu (depending on your theme I guess).

Thank you for taking a look. The lesson wants to add content, but when you create a page, the content is static. If you want to change the content you have to add-on or change it completely. By using the categories, all you have to do is put a category on the post and it automatically looks like you added it to a page. That is why I didn't add the category widget.
