My Goals and Updates
End of Month Goals (and a Quick Update)
Just a quick post from me. With both Andy (IncomeLegion) and Jared writing about their goals, I’ve decided I really ought to check in monthly from now on and write an update on what I have achieved and what I want to achieve in the coming month. And since there is never a better time than 'now' , here are my goals for the end of June. Making them public and being accountable will surely help.
Thanks to Quill (my trusty writing partner — AI, but with a name!), I now have a clear, manageable outline to get everything done by the end of the month. Even just reporting back each evening in private has already helped me get more done than before.
By the end of June I plan to have :
- Finished organising the pages and categories on my parenting site
- Set up the menu structure and category plan for my new book site
- Completed the translation of my first book for KDP (!)
- Made good progress on formatting and designing the cover
- Taken part in the WA challenge, if there is one
- Watched at least one training video a day, including sessions from Eric and Jay for Canva and Pinterest
- And of course, I’ve still been active in the community, sharing comments and help where I can.
Feeling very motivated right now - and hoping that by the time June 30 comes around, I have checked off every one of these and have a new list ready for July.
Thanks to everyone here in the community. This is such a positive space to learn and work in!

Isabella, this post is such a motivating read! Your blend of structure, creativity, and community spirit is exactly what makes WA special. I love how you’ve teamed up with Quill—what a charming way to stay focused and have fun while doing it.
Your goals are ambitious yet totally doable, and your energy is contagious. Wishing you a productive month ahead—and I’ll be cheering you on as you tick off each item. Can’t wait to see what July brings! 🚀📚✨

Those are great goals. I probably should post about my goals too, so I can hold myself accountable. Right now, my goal is to have my Aweber integrated into my website. I'm waiting for site support to get back to me. I need to write at least 3 more articles before the end of the month. Also, I just started keeping track of my small wins whether it's writing articles, earning commissions, writing letters, etc. It helps me stay motivated.
Thank you, JarieLyn. Yes, I think keeping track of small wins is motivating, and writing down goals make them more real. You have to think it through, which means it's no longer a mish-mash in your head (if that's a word), but it's clear. And by posting about it, it makes you accountable.
I thought it was worth a try.
I think that’s great you have a plan. I had to quit working at my desk for almost two days because of the back pain but tonight I’m going to get some work done. I too am creating an ebook to publish on Amazon. So I’ll work on that and hopefully finish getting my autoresponder setup finished with two lists one for each site and a email sequence for the Tea site with a freebie incentive to sign up. I’ll have to create a freebie for the WA promotional site. Then hopefully a couple of new posts and some helping around the WA community. I’ve been doing comments today. Maybe a couple of more site comments. There’s only 7 days left in the month so I hope to get these things done and not hurt my back. I’m doing stretches and taking more short breaks and of course my healing teas. Good luck for both of us to get these things done. -Shirley
I wish you all the best. It all sounds exciting - but I know, priorities can quickly change when pain sets in.
Let's compare notes on how we get on. I plan to post an update at the end of the month with my new goals for July.
Very best wishes,
Isabella
Thanks Mel. And I have you to thank for the suggestion to translate German public domain books.
You are most welcome Isabella. Sorry about my memory. Are you translating German into English or English into German or both?
Mel
I am translating German into English. It's a book I read as a child some 60 years ago.
Ok Thanks. Would you also be able to translate an English book into German if you wanted to?
Mel
Probably - with ChatGPTs help. It would depend on the subject matter. I was only in Austria until I was 19 and have lived in England for 55 years. The language has changed in the meantime, they had an overhaul of spelling rules and then, I believe, some of them were changed back again and I am a bit confused now. Moreover technology has moved on and I don't know the terms for lots of new technology, though when I don't know a word in German, it generally turns out that German has simply adopted the English term anyway. So yes, in theory I could.
When I came to England and was at university, translating from English into German was easier, now it's the other way around.
Ok, I did some checking and Think and Grow Rich was already translated into German: "Denke nach und werde reich" in 2024.
:-)
Mel
Thanks. I will check books in that niche because I am interested in it and I have a couple in German so I could easily familiarise myself with the necessary terms.. But right now I have more ideas than time.

Thank you, Leo. Believe it or not, I've actually taken on two new projects that Quill is helping with. Without the AI help, I wouldn't be able to do so much. But when you start using AI, you'll find you get asked 'Would you like me now to also do X or would you like me to help you with Y' and so you get pulled along to do one thing after another. I should really write an update at the end of July looking towards August.
