The Loading Spinner Syndrome

Wanna test your patience?

Judge for yourself how quickly your patience runs out while staring at something like this:

Or this:

Maybe just seeing these images are enough to get your blood boiling.

This could, however, serve as an indicator of how well you might or might not do when the time comes to wait for your impending success here at WA. I know that moment (or series of MANY moments) is coming for myself, and soon.

When will it all finally click together? I think I've done everything right... what did I miss?

I've got my website built. I am in a niche with proven success. I have all my affiliate links and banners and ads in place. I have lots of engagement on social media. My traffic has shown steady increase.

So...

WHEN WILL THE MONEY START?

This is when our lives will seem to be like watching that loading spinner go round and round and round... but still nothing coming up on our "screen of success."

For many, this has already happened, for good or ill. The spinner, for quite a few, has started to look more like a spiral staircase... LEADING DOWN. Only down.

Disappointment and discouragement are only natural when you've done everything "by the book," yet there are no tangible results of the positive kind.

One small yet very important word needs to be at the end of that last sentence:

YET.

I am speaking as much to myself as to all of you while writing this. We all must learn patience while waiting for "our time."

This is what the loading spinner can teach us now.

Ask yourself: What do I do while that blasted thing keeps going round and round in my face?

Do I get frustrated and mutter, "This is taking too dang long!" and click out of the function?

Do I open another tab and get back to work, having decided to check back later?

Do I smash the computer and storm out to the bar, blaming the makers of the website for ruining my life after putting so much trust in high speed internet (and therefore should not have to WAIT for anything)?

Or do I just sit there, mesmerized, waiting and doing nothing more than watching the clock?

Hopefully, we will all (myself definitely included) will be the "tab opening" kind of people when faced with delayed success: We improve our content. We work on ad placements. We self-promote more. We reach out and help others -- maybe learning from their mistakes, while realizing just how much we have absorbed in so relatively short a period of time. We write more -- perhaps even diversifying ourselves by starting a NEW SITE in a NEW NICHE, effectively spreading the "wealth" of our knowledge and personalities.

Or we make difficult choices about how to supplement our income while still waiting.

The important thing is that we keep working. Even if this means having to get back into "the daily grind" for a bit to make ends meet.

But we never give up.

We come home and we keep working on our sites and we keep trying.

Because... some day... we will go back to that "screen of success" and find that it has finished loading.

The spinner has stopped going round and round. It always does.

That's when all of us that remained patient and held tightly to hope and worked hard without let-up will finally be able to say:

IT WAS ALL WORTH IT.

Are you at this point? Do you feel this way? Have you walked away but came back?

I want to hear about it! I'm sure a lot of other do as well.

So how about some comments and experiences? Let's keep ourselves looking up the spiral staircase, not down, as we continue waiting for that loading spinner in our lives!

Hi, Jason really like your post, I know that feeling of the spinner syndrome I tote my laptop everywhere you get very creative when it comes to creating that connection.
Like the analogy, some days we can crush it and others it can be like the endless wet week, I had one of those kind of days today, mid-afternoon going nowhere fast. sometimes it can be about backing ourselves and just going for it, sticking to it, the results come. The knowledge and resources here at Wealthy Affiliate lend themselves to so many ways to create income, we just have to stick with it. It can be so hard out in that no man's land when we have everything primmed and ready to go, and it is not happening the way we wanted it to, it is easy to say this but that is the time we just need to dig it in.

An every day struggle, for certain. Just trying to put some perspective on it and hopefully promote some productive self-analysis. Seems like it worked with a couple of you!
Thanx for reading and commenting -- earned yourself a follow!

Awesome the more the merrier, one of the real pluses about WA is that we are sharing this journey together and many of us go through the same phases issues and successes, it is good to share.

Misery loves company? Or strength in numbers? I prefer the latter.
Thanx for the read and the response, Alex!
