How to move your wordpress site?
Hi guys,
Here I am going to write about how to move your wordpress site from one hosting to another hosting. I got success to do this. Hope you all will. This is a tribute to all of you as a member of Wealthy affiliate.
I don't have much time to place pictures or images. Hope you can read and do as I have said here.
Step 1. Backup Database
Download plugin wp-db-backup and install it to your wordpress site.
After completion of this a "Backup" option will be available with your wordpress site.
Backup your database using wp-db-backup.
Step 2. Install FileZilla
Install Filezilla client.
You will need
Old
Host: sitename.com
FTP Username: (For WA you can get from site details)
FTP Password: (For WA you can get from site details)
Then Quickconnect.
Downoload wp-content folder from httpdoc to your computer.
Disconnect old host and connect new host.
Host:
FTP Username: (Your new host will provide you this)
FTP Password: (Your new host will provide you this)
Then Quickconnect.
Go to: httpdoc>>wp-content
Delete all inside wp-content there.
Select backup of all of your wp-content from your computer and upload inside that wp-content folder.
Step 3. Create wordpress using Fantastico
Fantastico is 1 click worpress install option in your new host. Install wordpress there. It's easy!
Step 4. Make Database
Login to your new host cpanel
Click phpMyAdmin
select unique name database for your site which is already created for your site from the new host.
Click wp-options
Click Import
Click Choose File
Select your db backup
Press "GO"
Click back "wp-options"
Check siteurl if it is correct.
Step 5. Change Nameserver
Login to your Domain register account from where you have bought your domain name like namecheap.com or godaddy.com
Customize your nameserver to new hosting name server.
Wait for 24 hours to let your hosting fit with new name server.
Step 6. Set your permalink
From your wordpress site set your permalink to default and then again you set it to post name or anything you want.
Now your wordpress site is ready in a new host!

Are you leaving WA? I am not sure why you would want to move your sites from WA to another host,, bit that being said
FYI. these instructions need to be clarified for what host you are moving your site to...
Some hosts do not use fantastico, which is a product of cpanel.. again a product that not all hosts provide.
not all hosts use the httpdoc folder, some use public_html
There are a few other steps that may need a little better clarification
Yes, i need to take 3 months leave. Too much pressure in school with lots of assignments. Yes, if any hosting is wordpress friendly then they have 1 click wordpress install system like fantastico or some others. Yes this is product of cpanel from your new host. Yes, other hosts use public_html instead of httpdoc folder. You just need to find wp-content folder there. Thanks for addition
