Amazon? Finally?

So last night the local and state news had a new headline: beginning January 1 Amazon will begin collecting state and local sales tax for Louisiana!

Does this mean that Amazon will finally allow me and other residents of Louisiana to join their affiliate program? I've been hamstrung since the beginning because I wasn't allowed to use Amazon. Hopefully this will get extended to the other Nexxus states soon so that we all have an even playing field!

I suppose there is always a confusing angle to things. One of the sticking points has been that Amazon didn't want to collect sales tax. Yet they've already been doing it for 29 states, according to the same article that reported that they would begin collecting sales tax... go figure...

Anyway... YAY!
