I had my 1st entrepreneurship dive years back on a booth-type Coffee Shop inside an company building atrium garden good for relaxing and social gathering during break time (and smoking time). The foot traffic was very good for a year when I got my ROI/payback within 7-8 months time frame after that was pure profit. 6 Barista staff was working in my team. On the 15months of operation, the management decided to renovate that garden area and I was asked to move to their regular cafeteria which made my product and location commoditized. I lost my regular foot traffic customers and eventually dropped my revenues. I did not renew my lease contract then.
The topic and concept of traffic in this discussion seems close to my heart as I had a painful experience as traffic is a key factor for success.
