What's up Wealthy Affiliates,
When I started this project or process, I felt like I was on the deepest abyss of Marianas Trench in terms of knowledge and what I will be about to discover, I was somehow in the dark.
But guided by professionals and following steps and being willing to write and to "dig" up for new things, you will slowly rise up into the light.
I am following valuable training with my own pace and looking forward for reaching the milestones to a healthy path of (un)covering "revenue" and "money" aspects in the next phases.
But hey, this is challenging work, and I enjoy it!
When resting from the rush and being calm, making a "cold" analysis of the facts, I've just realized what I have accomplished, during last quite short period:
- some sort of niche and stories that are giving me joy when sharing and putting them down on "paper", along with my own space and domain where to do that;
- "clean" and optimized my work space and website for SEO (with big help of course from the community and by WA platform)
- I have an idea about the process of creating content
- I have even created several pages of content that are starting to get ranked - 7 articles published, 4 ranked in Google, not much but definitely a start for me.
- I feel that I am building the foundation of a house and I KNOW more than 90% of people surrounding me, and not bragging about it. :)
My goal for the upcoming 3 months is to generate at least 1 USD from all this struggle. :)

4 out of 7 ranked is great progress. Yes, need more to drive traffic for the long term. I struggle with writing anything more than 1,500 words and I am practicing and learning here at WA.
Yes, providing good useful and great content is the key, first to drive traffic and afterwards to monetize.

Not exactly aware how good or bad it is. Good for starters. But I guess it is definitely needed more in order to drive traffic and be able at a certain moment to monetize it properly.
It's not easy to rank highly for such a high percentage of articles. If you can continue at that level you will definitely be making an excellent income from affiliate marketing. Jim

Sometimes I feel as though it is important to write articles with nothing to buy (just useful content). I put internal links in it to other sites. Not sure if this is a good idea or not but something I have been trying.

You are ranked pretty good. Excellent I might say. I might say I am Not an expert, still I perfectly agree with you, this is good - "write articles with nothing to buy (just useful content)". And of course better with a product if a certain amount of traffic is generated.
Regarding the second part, I just hope that those "affiliate" links posted in your content are or will be rewarding somehow.
