How do I get rid of these: Edit, leave a reply logged in as admin-logout, comment with a large rectangular box under, you may also use tags etc. post comments.
Hi Charles.
If you "logout" of your website - then you'll see the page as your visitors will.
Alternatively, you can open an "incognito" window (in Chrome, click on the 3 bars at the top right - and select New Incognito Window - or press Ctrl + Shift + N).
However - if you want to remove the ability for people to leave comments - then in WP, go to Pages/Posts -> Quick Edit (not Edit) - and untick the Comments box.
I hope this helps?
All the best, Mark
Thank you. I did log out and that kind of cleaned the page. It left a structure for visitors email, comments and catcha or something like that. that space where you copy some wriggling figures. Someone once told me that is supposed to tell whether you are human. It scared me. Just the thought that aliens or whatever they are called can attempt to sign into a website. What is "incognito" window. I am a JJC (Jonny just come) or a freebie. Pages/Posts does this stand for pages and posts, Pages or Posts, either or? Please pardon my abject ignorance. Thank you for your help.
Hi Charles - no problem at all.
If you click on Pages or posts - then quick edit:
http://d.pr/i/AlZ6
You can then untick the Comments box:
http://d.pr/i/dD0O
That will stop the page or post allowing comments to be added - and the squiggly text (known as a Captcha) appearing.
Incognito just means that it is a fresh, clean browser window. You can open one by right clicking on the Chrome button on your start bar:
http://d.pr/i/uHqU
It will not assume that you are logged, and will therefore show your website as if you were a visitor.
I hope this helps Charles? Let me know if not.
All the best, Mark
This is incorporated in the theme you are using and you can't get rid of it if unless you change the theme.

Hi - I would need to see the page of your website to understand what you are aiming to do. Can you post a link or send me a PM - Colin
Please, I am a rookie or to use a term used around, I am a newbie. You have to explain how to post a link. What is PM? and how is it sent? pardon my ignorance.
Hi - I responded to the Private Message, that you sent - Looks like you have to edit the CSS code (Cascading Style Sheet) - the PM explains how to do this.
Thanks - Colin
