To those behind the scenes
Hi WA family. Over the last 9 or so days in WA, I've been busy learning, creating content for my website and helping others the best I can.
I had some excellent site support yesterday so writing this blog to share my learning with the larger community and to thank the behind the scenes players.
A Secure Site - Sounds Good (and it's free)
Yesterday, I read some thread and realized my site was still insecure (http and not https). So I used the sitebuilder platform and in a few clicks my site was secure - or was it?
I logged on to G+ to add some followers and +1s and ... my websites preview was gone from my post. I clicked on the link and google told me the site was not secure and could be used for phising etc. The horror of it all.
Let's read the material ....
I reached out to the community and started reading a bunch of blogs (including how people readded all the pictues to their website and had a bad feeling at the pit of my stomach.
But how about the experts?
FINALLY, I did the smart thing and just dropped a note to site support. Here's how it went:
- Step 1: They fixed the site issue (g+ preview and not secure message in about 2 minutes) but all the pictures on my site disappeared
- Step 2: Sent them this information and in less than a minute the pictures magically reappeared
Let's thank and use them
Moral of the story: Firstly, we have an awesome and dedicated site support team at WA. I cannot think of many other companies in any industry that will provide this kind of turn around time.
This blog is my way of thanking the unsung heroes in site support and other behind the scenes crew at WA
Also, in our excitement to move ahead, we tend to just roll up our sleeves and do everything ourselves. Winning is about being smart, so when in doubt especially on technical matters, I will surely turn to the experts (and use the super community for my motivation)
Here's to moving ahead faster and more efficiently.
Cheers,
Josh
