Getting Up and Running!
Posted to my first site this evening built through the WA site builder. Setup is too easy - almost unsettlingly so. ;) For someone who always does the manual installation for WP - the one-click install feels weird, but I like the convenient login access available here.
Question: I always recommend against using 'admin' for a user ID. I'm wanting to change it, but a part of me likes the luxury of having the easy-access login buttons. One thing I'm really drawn to here is the simplicity. WA seems to make it really easy to manage and grow an empire. If any of you read this, can you let me know how you handle this? Do you change the default 'admin' or leave it?
I was also pleased to discover that the WP installations were standard, allowing us to upload our own themes and plugins. I was a little worried all of this would be too turn-key, but not the case!
In my limited time spent tinkering, the hosting seems to be decent. I'm hoping things are stable and reliable, as I'd love to be able to utilize the hosting that is offered through the membership.
I'm really enjoying WA so far!
Next month, when the Benjamins start dispensing out the side of my iMac, I'll be even more pleased. ;)

Kyle shows you how to change your user settings in one of the lessons. I am not sure though which lesson it is..maybe I'll have a look.
I know how to change the settings, but mainly I was wondering if the hosting here had some safeguards in place to protect against basic vulnerabilities like the common use of 'admin' as a username. That's always the first user id hackers will use when trying to crack passwords.
What'd be cool if there is a way to set a new global user id that's unique to your account, instead of everyone using 'admin'. Hmmm...I'll submit a ticket to see.
Thanks for the reply!
