my 1st blog post!

good morning from maine!

i am moving along in my training and it is time for me to write my very first blog post. i am learning a lot here at WA and i never thought i'd have my very own webpage dedicated to my favorite hobby, cruising and travel! it is all very cool and im super excited to keep building it up and hopfully at some point, start making money.

my ultimate goal is to learn how to manage multiple sites and basically make writing/web design (through WA and affiliate marketing) my main source of income. i have a regular job working at a small town store where we sell meat and deli as well as take out sandwiches and prepared meals. so i basically work in restaurant/store, waiting on people for 11 hours a day and its exhausting. i don't see myself there much longer as im getting more and more "over it" every single day. my husband and i have talked about picking up and moving upstate, and i'd like to have a job where i can work from home so we can move somewhere random and not have to worry about what kind of jobs are avaliable there.

my smaller goal, at the moment, is to create new content 4-5 days a week on my current site, travelcruisetips.com and hopefully begin getting visitors to the page that aren't just directed from WA or google+ followers. i am trying very hard with everything ive learned so far (its only been 5 days!) and hopefully i am doing everything right with keywords and links and such.

i have signed up as an affiliate with amazon, and i am able to link products through my site to theirs for recommendation. i need to expand on this, which i will focus on the next day off i have from the store. i am able to link them with text only, however, i do not yet understand how to make banner ads or side ads. so that will be the focus going forward.

well, its time to get ready for work. *sigh*

i am hoping to get to the point where i can call THIS work.. because writing is something i have always enjoyed but never dreamed (until now!!!) that i could make any money with. i'm hoping that soon i can achieve that goal. until then... would you like fries with that?

ps. i am choosing to keep my writing here in all lower case as a style, simply because this is a blog and im not concerned with capitalization and grammar.
