I hope losing weight while jogging is not the only benefit you expect from participation in this activity. If it is—well than hold on—because there are more that will have a positive impact on your life.  Jogging –some where between walking and running—is a great physical activity that most can enjoy. We are going to talk about how it might benefit you, how you can get started jogging to lose weight and enjoy the benefits it will provide.

 

Your jogging to lose weight program will have similar routines as other workout programs, however we differ in our abilities so routines should be designed for the individual.   So let’s begin:  First, if you have not been very active visit your physician for a check up. Second, make sure you have good supportive sneakers that fit you foot structure. We describe a simple method you can employ, that will help you pick the proper sneakers or footwear, in another article on this site.  Depending on weather conditions, clothing is optional and subjective but necessary, we do not condone streaking.

 

Now you want to find a place to begin your losing weight jogging program.  A local high school track is an excellent choice, as they are normally a quarter mile in distance providing a measurement for progress, along with the amount of weight loss. I am assuming that you have not been very active with some of these suggestions; however, individually you can adapt these suggestions, depending on your capability.  I suggest you walk the quarter mile track four times and note your time to do so—than divide by four to see your average for the quarter.  Than when you are ready to try jogging, do a lap looking to increase your walk time by 15 to 30 seconds, or what is a comfortable jog. Do not try to increase you time dramatically – easy does it, as you break in and become comfortable, while finding your pace for jogging to lose weight.

 

Repetition and consistency are vital to a successful program and you should have a minimum schedule of three or four workouts per week.  Over time, as you increase your stamina, your routines will take different configurations increasing the variety while maintaining interest. Here you might also want to design a weight control maintenance program thru diet and schedule.  Losing weight jogging can be fun and return numerous benefits such as reduced anxieties, lower blood pressure, increased physical strength and an increased feeling of personal control.
