have I really chosen a niche?
"The secret to a good life is to love many things with a passion"
this is a quote from the famous phsycologist and self help book writer Leo Buscaglia. It is advice I have followed through out my diverse and contradictory life. I took up internet marketing, not because I dislike my employment, but because I need another source of income for when I am between jobs, since I love the variety and different locations of seasonal temporary work, but need a reliable source of income even if I continue to do it.
Needless to say when I became interested in affiliate marketing, the idea of choosing a single niche and writing about that one thing for a year or more seemed like slavery, or an arranged marriage or a vow of silence or something equally as restrictive. Before coming to WA I was stuck on the niche topic for quite a while.
I think I may have cheated a bit, choosing a niche that is quite wide range just so I could get on with building the site and make progress instead of going endlessly in circles. I have been flipping back and forth between the Enterprenuer courses and Bootcamp, doing both simaltenously. The two courses are similar, but one is towards the niche of your choice, and the other is to promote Wealthy affiliate. I am just now finishing up level 2 of each one, and seeing the evolution of a possible niche through my progress that I could not clearly define at the start.
What I am saying here, is that through just doing it, even though my mind resisted the niche thing completely, to the point of jeprodizing my progress, I begin to see it evolve naturally through the progress of the sites.

Hello hurricaneR, thank you for sharing. Your story is very supportive here, because I felt confused and overwhelmed in my first two weeks here. Now, I am back on board taking my classes slowly, setting break times and taking care of my time management. Congratulations!!
