YES, Affiliate Marketing Does Work

Well I have been around WA now for a little over 2 years and as yet hadn't seen a return from any of my affiliate program links. Yes I did earn 3 months of commission from WA on a premium membership but that was from a referral who was intending to use a free site and somehow accidently took out a Premium membership so I don't really count that one...

Prior to now possibly my site, while servicing a badly serviced although much needed niche wasn't servicing an easily monetized niche. In the last few months however I have focused on 2 new niches that have a lot better monetization potential, one being travel (www.aroundrock3.com) and the other being Minecraft (www.minecraftworld.co)

Well finally I have achieved my first affiliate sale through Amazon, although with a little help from fellow WA member @JeffKent (thanks Jeff) and it has shown up on my Amazon account and activated said account, so we are really on our way now with Amazon. I notice we have had a number of clicks from our new sites through Amazon so our next goal will be to get the 6 more sales to increase our commission to 6%.

I had often wondered how accurate these 3rd party affiliate programs were in tracking sales, but now know for sure that they do indeed work.

I am not sure if all those who have Amazon affiliate accounts realize that you need to gain a sale within 180 days of signing up to activate and maintain your account, if not it is closed down. Jeff had the great idea of having a place to go to share our sites so that we can obtain those much needed sales to kick our affiliate programmes into action. So if you ate still trying to activate your Amazon account feel free to list your website in the comments below and for anyone needing to buy anything think about supporting a fellow member so they can get their account active as well. In business 180 days isn't a long time to gain that first sale so any help is good and once that sale is made then the pressure is off and you can stop worrying about where that sale is going to come from and then just concentrate on uploading good content to grow the business.
