Your bio-rhythm

SO I STARTED A SITE CALLED LIFE HACKING FOR A BETTER LIFE

Started to get some posts up and running, getting some traffic, got a Facebook page up and running (feel free to look me up) etc.

Starting to research the subject for a post on bio-rhythm hacking and determining what your bio-rhythm and circadian rhythm really is and what it should be to be the most efficient and productive.

So a few days ago I wrote down everything I did; when I did it, and how I felt doing it. I did this with a small notepad as I did it.

The proverbial light bulb goes on at this point !

Come to find out I was working on my website at the wrong times (I work all day on another job so my time when I can work on my website is limited). It seems whenever my interest and motivation was low was the times I would work on the website and the time that I was up and in the moment I spent them watching tv or doing something else.

By writing down all this for a couple days and analyzing the paper, my routines, and the timing of such I was able to come up with a much better plan.

I realized that instead of coming home from work and within an hour jumping on the computer to "put time in" on my sites and learning etc., it was better for me to have a short nap then a nice walk.

Energized I could then focus on a few things or do some chores around the house that doesn't make me think too hard then about 9 at night until 2 or so I come into super focus for some reason and that is the time I jump on the computer and my sites. I've written 3 posts in the last 3 days doing that and they are better than most my. It would have taken me a week to do 1 before.

I get up at 6 for work so I found when I get home from work (around 4:30pm) I am drained; if I take a half hour to 45 minutes of a nap or focused meditation, then I can easily hang until 1200-0200. I feel much more refreshed than what I used to be.

Lots of people talk about focus but focus is a function of mood, your environment, how rested you are and whether your stressed about something.

By analyzing myself for a couple days this became very apparent to me. Sounds silly but if you don't take the time to analyze yourself (actually right it down and look at your options) sometimes your are just "off" and "on" at the wrong moments.

Be productive ! but at the right moments ! :)
