Rabbit Hole writing is why I need a process or system to stay focused to ultimately complete my goal

I have my niche and my keywords

Now what? I begin to write my fabulous content. Build a little on the scope from the keywords I've chosen and start typing away. I'm not one to usually get stuck. Really just the opposite where I may just keep on a roll when about to end a sentence but down a different and interesting path. I don't know sometimes this is good but oh man.

I'd really like a Outline Path of where to go but I don't even know where to begin. Maybe this is what's been holding me back from writing my content. Worried I'll just fall off into a finger driven rollercoaster of relevant but nonsensical words on a page. Cute and fluffy but then what?

WA training is more than I expected but at times I've felt left a little short of the goal line.

At a point early on in the training when it would say to "write content" at this point. I would think to myself ok but what am I writing about? I'm not sure of the purpose of the writing. How to reach the reader. Factual writing or opinion writing. I need more direction. I need something I don't know exactly what or how to ask for it. It's certainly something I know i don't know! The worst because I feel stuck not knowing what I need.

I've gone back over some of the training to rediscover tips and tricks to formulating my content better. Referred back to the elements of content writing. The intro, the body elements (Min.3) and a conclusion. I guess everyone finds their own way to incorporate all these moving parts into a finished post or page of content. I just wish i had a map or outline to look at and work from to build and customize it for myself.

That seems to be my first goal! Or maybe it's all silly and just another way to self sabatage myself into thinking I can't move forward until I have this figured out kind of thinking.

It's getting late here or extremely early depending on how you look at it.
So I'm going to rest a bit and revisit this conundrum a bit later today!

Any suggestions or advice or words of wisdom are appreciated!

Thanks,
Holly

Many of us have that problem Holly.
An idea I find useful is to ask myself who am I writing for, and how he will benefit.
The next part is a little harder. Don't start with tame opening sentences.
Start with a eye opening summary, don't hold back. You don't have an interesting story to tell.
You have an explosive revelation.
Something he should urgently know about !
Next. bullet list the benefits, add an affiliate link at the end ( if you have one).
Then get into the body of the story, add your external and internal links in here.
Then a conclusion and add an affiliate link at the end, (if you have one).
I hope this helps a little.
Michael.

I realize you are looking for a general plan from which to build articles, but I have a suggestion. Go back to grade school and think about the way you were taught to outline. I use that method with phrases once I get an idea for an article.
Main point
1st sub point
detail
detail
2nd sub point
detail
detail
Next point
etc.
It may seem pretty elementary, but one is just phrases your thoughts are laid out as you like, you just fill in the rest of the words.

Hey Holly I was spending a couple days to write one blog a couple months ago. I hit the kind of wall you are speaking about. I had to find a way to be more efficient and at the same time make a contribution I thought would be worthwhile. So my plan has been to select areas of interest, like Pinterest and choose sub-topics under this platform. I then do research and put my spin on it. Slow at first but I am getting more of a knack of it. Other times I just write about a personal experience that I believe might be interesting. You will find your rhythm so don't beat yourself up. You will get there.
