How to Make a Screen Capture Video on Your iOS Device

For those who want to make a quick app tutorial video on the go, or you are a gamer and would like to jump in and make a quick little video, this little tutorial is for you. Please make sure that you are running the most current update on your iOS Device (minimum you should be running iOS 11 or higher)

Locate and enter your Settings for your IPhone or IPad.

Scroll down to the Control Center and open.

Tap on the Customize Controls.

Tap the "Green +" Button next to Screen Recording.

This will place the "Screen Recording" in the INCLUDED section at the top of the screen. Therefore placing it in your UTILITIES screen.

Open your Utilities Screen (if you are not sure how to do this, take your finger and swipe your main screen from the upper right hand corner to the middle of your screen.)

Once your Utilities is open, you will notice the "record" symbol on the screen.

Tap and HOLD this button for 3 seconds to open the Screen Recording settings.

The top is a warning to make sure that your "Do Not Disturb" function is turned ON before recording, otherwise your notifications will record along with your planned video.

You will also select to have this video automatically saved to either Facebook or your Camera Roll as soon as your video has been stopped.

You may also choose to record your voice during the video or keep the mic shut off for later editing.

Once all of your selections have been made, you can start recording.

Walk through your screens as you normally would to get to your app or game that you are using for your tutorial, speaking or not along the way.

Once you are complete, come right back to the Screen Recording screen to Stop the Recording.

You can either edit your video from your Camera Roll, iMovie app, or upload to your PC and edit your video there. (I like to use the free Movavi Screen Editor.)
